I'm on day 16 of flowering, and my 3 shiva skunks have at least 100 little flowers on them. I dont know about HID lights, but so far with the tubes and cfl's, they'redoing well. I've been pruning back the water leaves once a week to let light through to the under growth. later

I have 3 shiva skunks growing. I've been vegging them for almost 3 weeks now. I'm going to start flowering in a couple weeks. I have 2 40W 6500k flouresent tubes, and 6 26W 6500k cfl's surrounding the plants. Since switching to the tubes and cfl's, the SS's have gotten bushy and are thriving. I think the key with cfl'sand flouresent tubes is to use the right light spectrum. 6500k is full spectrum light and is necessary for flowering. You can use 5000k to veg,but you might as well start with 6500k. Also, key the lights close to the leaves, maybe an inch and a half to 2 inches so the light can penetrate through. The more light, the better.
6500k is necessary for flowering??

Do what now?

6500k won't hurt anything but the plant flowers strongest with red spectrum 2700k.

Hey guys this question is a bit off subject, but you folks seem pretty knowledgable. I'm growing shiva skunk, and i'm not too sure when to begin flushing out the nutes before I harvest. I just took these photos about 10 minutes ago. about half of the resin glands have turned amber. any help would be appreciated.

I'm using T5 fixtures. my crop looks nice, but Ed says flourescents are not the way to go. He says to use a bloom light. HPS i think is what he said. I don't know, I'm doing well with 11 plants in a 3' x 3' tray. Look for my thread. I have recent pictures from my current grow.
