That's how I'm running it.

I've read about people incrementing it an hour a day until it at the full 12 hours.

Or you could do like @curious2garden and run it 24 hours

Nah it was great and extremely efficient, 2 hours prior to lights on and 2 hours after lights off and boom it monstercropped them My plan was 2 hours at the start and end. But I could have been high when I set up the timer. It is possible.

oh it was only four hours. I assumed it was stuck on the whole time.

Day 28.
10 gallons of water. Tap.
25 grams of nutrients. MegaCrop 1-Part.
No PH. No PPM. Ever.

Plants look great, but I'd say they're bordering nitrogen toxicity and magnesium lockout.
