Gorilla Grow Tents - opinions?

Hi all. I'm moving to a new place and will have a 10' ceiling area to grow in. I thought about finishing it out as a grow room, but there would be some carpentry and drywall challenges and I figure fuck that, sounds too much like work. So I plan to flower in a tent. I'm looking at the new Gorilla 4x4x7' (expandable to 10'). Anyone have experience with them? Pricey, but that ok for top quality IMO

I have a few! They are extremely durable, and the features are awesome mesh bug screens, double drawstrings, zipper is stout and the height extensions are rad! Any specific questions about them bubba? They are definitely the best I have seen yet!

They are the best! Guaranteed to hold up all of your equip and they may be a little pricier but its worth it to get a solid product that will last you and is super easy to set up

Thanks guys. That's all I needed was an opinion that I could trust. Typically you get what you pay for, just making sure that is the case here.

Well, I guess I do have a specific question. I see that the tent comes with an water over flow pan... looks like some kind of fabric though. Does it work? It is conceivable that I could have a runout from my Blumats while getting them dialed in... worst case is 6 or 7 gallons of water in the bottom of the tent. Do you think it would contain it, or does it leak through the fabric?

I wouldn't reccomend floating water in it, it is just a fabric floor that velcros around the frame poles. It is more or less for accidental spillage! But 6-7 gallons i don't think it will hold that much.. I should add the nylon fabric floor has a reflective most likely water proof surface! Sahtiva for the win! :)

I'll come build one for you to your exact measurements with lumber and panda film for 200 less than the cost of the tent. I'll throw in a flood table that fills the entire bottom :P

edit: clearly a joke, dont wanna get a ban for advertising.

Thanks, figured that. I'll have a guy I know weld me up a light gauge stainless steel pan to fit I guess.... That'll cost more than the tent.... On 2nd thought, maybe Rubbermaid makes something that'll work.

A friend of mine uses a low tide flood table at the bottom of his tent and it works perfect he says. Bit pricey, but probably nothing in comparison
to having custom fab work done. I have a generic ebay tent at home from I think gotham hydro and the fabric insert seems to do a great job with keeping
moisture contained, though I haven't tested it to the extents you would like it to be able to hold.

Kiddie pool. Why screw around? Just tear out the carpet, frame in a room, plumb it and do the electrical, put on a door and rock!

No brother pond liner. You can get it in various mil I was looking at a 45 mil it resists tears holds water and is fairly cost effective.

Thanks to all for the advice. The flood table is probably the way I'll go. Built the 4x4 tent in my area. Went ahead and expanded it to 8'. :weed:

Tonight I installed a 6" HO Can fan with a CAN 33 filter.... That rig is freaking big, I had no idea lol. Also hung my 8 bulb HO T5 and plan to hang my (3) 240w LEDs around it kind of angled in. Will also add 4 T5s in the corners. Should be right at a KW of light

It just so happens that a friend has been keeping clones of the Snow Goddess strains that I grew out. So, I will run the Indica pheno (21% THC) and the high CBD pheno (8% CBD / 8% THC) and then I also believe he has a much coveted 2:1 CBD:THC strain for me that weighs in at 14% CBD and 8% THC. I hope to get these from him this weekend. I dont plan to journal, but I'll post up in Chefs thread.

Got the tent loaded. Considering the heat load, I'd probably be just as well off with a 1KW HPS, but I already have this stuff... comes out at 1.08KW at the plug.

Is that a 5x5? That's what I ran in there 1000w
4x4..... but it seems huge to me. We'll see how the mix does. Unfortunately 1/2 of one of my LEDs is Kaput. Probably from the move though I was gentle.... cheap Chinese junk, but it did grow out one nice harvest. Maybe just a wire disconnected in there since it's exactly 1/2 of the diodes. Maybe I'll try to repair it.... I know how to solder

I had that happen to my t5 4 of the 8 bank was out, I returned the unit to my hydro store and got a brand new one! Any warranty on it before you void by working on the light yourself?

Not likely, bought over a year ago from HTG. I knew I was buying cheap stuff... them's the breaks.

Home Sweet Home!!!

Snow Goddess (2 phenos) and two other very high CBD strains. The generosity of folks in this community is astounding. You know who you are, thanks for keeping these strains going.... and for giving me even better CBD strains. Im so stoked.

That's looking great, Bubba! I've been eyeballing tents recently, and it looks like you've got a great set-up running with yours!

Cheers!
