^^ this, once, a long time ago, no one hurt or saw what I did, that was all that was needed. "Thought it was empty" don't get it.

My son was shooting his .50 muzzle loader a couple of years ago & loaded the ball thinking he had already put in the black powder charge, primed it & realized what happened when only the cap went off. So he put the worm on the ramrod, screwed it in good & tight and promptly pulled the worm off of the end of the ramrod.
He had seen me fix this a few years earlier by taking out the nipple & trickling in as many grains of powder as I could, cap it & pull the trigger. The idea being it hopefully will move the ball just a smidge to allow a bit more powder in the next time doing this multiple times until the weapon finally discharges the ball (usually pretty anemically).
Turns out he was so desperate to clean the gun after firing it the week before (good boy!) and the weather was absolutely shit that he did it in his garage pointing the rifle into a 5 gal bucket of sand.
He called later that day to tell me he had to repeat the procedure 25ish times before it finally worked and that "you have no idea how loud that was in the closed garage & now there's sand everywhere"!
Lol - good lesson learned.

Simple genius haha. It reminds me of when my friend was putting new grips on an old 60's Schwinn he restored and had NOS grips that he was going to put on. He tried so hard to get them aligned perfect on both sides, but as soon as he put the grip on -it was stuck on the handlebar. He messed with it for a minute and I said can I give a suggestion and in his frustration he quickly shot me down with a "No" haha. So after about 15-20 minutes of trying to twist/pull/pry he says "ok.....whats your suggestion?" I grabbed the air hose, plugged the hole on the left grip and blew the air nozzle in the end of the one on the right and it blew halfway off the handlebar into my hand from the pressure allowing me to twist it off almost effortlessly. He was happy, but at the same time I could tell he wanted to punch me in the eye.

Thats also how I change grips on motorcycles and bikes too.

Yes, it's a MK XXII, one of the Japan-made ones. The earlier models were made in Italy and command a higher price, but this one has extra-fancy wood which doesn't show very well in my pics.

Rock Island mails out a highlights brochure.. Much detail on the items being auctioned so it's worthwhile from an educational or reference perspective. Catalogs are expensive but almost a work of art.

I used to hunt some property that was owned by a retired Chicago cop. let's just say he was probably a "Lil shady" but a fun guy with great stories. he had a Thompson submachine gun that he confiscated (but never turned in). I begged him to let me rip a few off to no avail. He lived in the middle of nowhere but said there is no mistaking the sound of that gun once you pull the trigger..

I'm in Cali and bought a cork gun ....don't tell anyone but I cut the cork off the string and it shoots much farther now ......sssshhhhh I trust my mods in this state will stay a secret with a bunch of strangers on the internet .......I plan on buying a rubber ban gun next and using extra thick rubber bands as well ........I've already said to much .......
