What's up with this "Respect your elders" Shit? There are good grandmas, ones who give there last breath for there legacy to have a better life, and those who take take take. Much like my grandmothers. On my fathers side my grandma was your prototypical grandma. Supportive, loving, spoiling, and naive. My grandmother on my mothers side would do the same thing OP is talking about. She got her disability cash, and then tried to milk whatever monies she could despite the fact my mother and her sisters were taking care of everything. She even bought me an Xmas present only to return it to buy a carton of cigarettes. There was also a time much like this one. Where she claimed her lights were going to be shut off, and needed 500 dollars. Only to find out the bill had already been paid, and she just wanted some extra spending cash. Grandmas aren't perfect, and not everyone older than you deserves your respect. How can someone who would do something to you, that you would never do in return deserve your respect?
Why? Because they pushed out your parents? It sounds like TS has respect for his/her grandma, but it just seems like grandma is bitter, and trying to "Get hers" before she heads off to that big white light in the sky.

And we see it everyday. Parents rolling on there kids. Spouses ratting on there husbands. Another forum on a guys 13y/o sister raiding his crop. This shit happens daily, and some deserves my best because they're a relative. Family is a relative term. Myself and you included probably know people you value just as much as your family, if not more. Grandma or not. You treat me like crap...you don't deserve my respect. Little spats aside. If someone is trying to take advantage of you they're foul.

Bake granny some extra special brownies, make sure she eats at least one full one, wait 20 minutes, then with pen and paper, make out a payment/rent schuedule for each month INCLUDING everything, get her to sign it, if she resists, give more brownies, repeat til signed,

Grandma's can be bitches you guys.
Sorry I am the only one on RIU who is
cursed with her.
Trust me, she IS money hungry. She stole over $20,000
from my sister when both of her parents died from my sisters
trust fund. Then she tells the whole family my sister owed it
to her for taking care of her because of her parents death.
Now no one likes my sister, because "sweet" ole grandma
never lies, and "isn't" money hungry. Bullshit.
If she can get extra money from you, she will. I just don't understand
why she would start saying empty lies to get an already "paid" bill
paid. She is just mad because she thinks I was lying to her and I
wasn't. I was really broke.
I am going to give her the money.
But I just don't like how she lied to me just to get it. She could have
asked. Why would she need to lie? She knows I would give it to her
if she just asked. I try not to get in her way because she is bitter. I
buy my own groceries, and she even complains about that.
and I will be moving out as soon as its possible.
