Grapefruit Dies n Purple Kush vs. LSD, Sour Cream, GWShark, Church and Cheese

I have been having remarkable success with the champs mentioned. The challengers i have just recieved via the 'tude, after a few unaccommodating shopping ventures at the local dispensaries.

The Great White Shark was the first to pop. Second off the line was Sour Cream, these were the most veiny and robust of the set... Then came the cheese and lsd... i am still waiting on the church. how ironic.

You can basically see how I germinated these seeds, my standard method, however, by reading Green House's "Germination Info" I was convinced to soak them in room temp water for 12 hrs... After which they were put into moistened paper towels and then cups... The last picture I tried to show how the root was pointing down.. Future pics will be of better quality...

Some cannoisseurs might be wondering what these alleged "champions" have superceded? In ch- ronological order...

Happy - a myth (from bagseed), super piney aroma, heavy stone, massive swollen dark green calyxes, deep aroma
Oasis - heavy stone, good bag appeal, lacked flavor/aroma
Somango - sweet, but small buds, lumber
Purple #1 - hermie, never knew full potential, deep purple coloring from initial calyxes (first 2-3 weeks).
Dutch Dragon - ridiculous trichome development (excellent bag appeal), lacked flavor/aroma, harsh
Mystery Woman - another myth (from bagseed), sativa that grew heavy heavy buds on asthetically weak plant. very orange/light green buds dried. very skunky.
Blueberry - (Im sorry but I do not think this was any kind of blueberry... I got a clone, which ended up being some sort of sativa with a long flowering cycle. It was a heavy producer bud lacked trichome development and density. Piney, but not an outstanding stain that I expected.. Will try again...)
OG Kush x Sage - Some of the best smelling/tasting smoke I have ever encountered... Incredibly strong and robust.. Scraggly, however preponderant aroma/flavor/unique calyx structure.. Late into flowering produced male flowers.. Never knew full potential...
Mikes Orange - Extreme skunk.. Hermie from the git-go...
Big Blue - Sweet aroma, big, beautiful buds with excellent trichome development, fast growing, lacks flavor. ;( sorry to see ya go big blue...

Notice the lack of credibility of clones? I would think fem seeds are more credible going by my stats... But also, a couple of years ago when I was purchasing these clones, the sheer numbers the clubs were dispensing were outrageous. The lack of care they recieved had to of been minimal. I must say standards are improving, but not drastically and not to a standard every patient should be entitled to... dont hate, propagate!

Right now Im using Cutting Edge 3 part for veg and AN Conoisseur for flower... I also use AN's Big Bud, Overdrive, Carboload, Iguana Juice, Sensizyme and Bud Blood. Sometimes I use molasses and Sweet leaf. Sometimes Huumboldts Gravity, sometimes Humtea... depends on medium and what i feel like feeding... For soil I use Roots Organics or if they are out of that Ill settle for fox farm ocean forest.. Always RO water from Crystal stations... Thanks for the compliment!

no problem! nutes sound good i have advanced nutes as well the 100% organic plan: iguana juice, humic, fulvic, carbo, sensi, pirahna, tarantula, voodoo juice, seaweed and organic b. i wanted to use gravity and sweetleaf but i wasn't sure if they worked so i didnt chance it. are they any good?

Warisnot... Gravity is great.. Its basically kelp extract which is also found in the sweetleaf.. (which also contains molasses..) All around good product... Although i didnt notice much difference from using just molasses and gravity... this is my first run with AN products... Before I was using cutting edge w/ their additives... in my opinion the final product was the same... i might be switching back to Cutting edge, but well see after i do another run in rockwool.. The last was all soil. and I want to give it a fair comparison. cutting edge is cheaper, too..

Revo.. thanks for stopping by! Grapefruit Diesel is one of my favorite strains! Very tasty!

Grapefruit diesel if one of my all time favorites. Been growing in for about 3 years now. Just thought I'd share a few pics with you MissWine.

one is a close up of my favorite in the bunch. The other is when I took them out to water yesterday.

Also do yours turn purple late into flowering? mine seem to. mine are from next generation.

I grew 2 outdoors last year and they were 3 lbs between the 2 of them. This year I have 17 outdoors.:hump::hump::hump:

Those are beautiful! What did you veg under? Your fan leaves are a lot fatter than mine... i vegged under 400hps for the first few runs... but effin A dude 1.5 lbs/plant? and 17? thats 25 lbs of top shelf pot! hahaha... i wondered what the Grapefruit would do outside... thanks for sharing...

Also, I got mine in sf, clone form... i thought about ordering some seeds but they are expensive... I want to try Gold Seal Grapefruit Kush from them also... But I got a list of shit to order first...

MissWine, great grow journal and even better pics! That Big Blue looks fuckin incredible to me. Excellent job. If you don't mind, since you seem the meticulous type (like myself), do you think you could post wet and dry weight final averages for the different strains you think are the most special? I know I for one, would really appreciate it. Btw, I love how so many of the leaves are just covered in resin. Your trim bag is going to be off the hook!

With a month veg from a rooted clone I usually get about 1/2-3/4 oz per plant for the Pk... 3/4-1oz for the diesel... I never really know for sure because i use it to medicate... I will definately keep a close log of the final weight of this last harvest... From the looks of it its going to be 3/4lb.. with 1 month veg... 4 Grapefruit Diesel 13 Purple kush 5 Big Blue (which I just phased out..) Yeah the hash from my last two harvests was off the hook... im hoping to get some bags soon instead of using old fabric..
