I plan on using light warrior from fox farm for seed starter. Then when I transplant I was going to go with a 3 gallon smart pot using half ocean forest and half happy frog with 1/4 fox farm big and chunky perlite mix. I only feed with black strap molasses. this should be very good soil mix right? only feed molasses during the flowering stage so I won't over feed. anyone else use half ocean and half happy frog with big and chunky perlite? any suggestions on my soil mix? I've read happy frog is more woody than ocean forest. is this true. would it be better just to go with ocean forest and big and chunky perlite instead?

I've been using a ocean forest with perlite mix. A lot of people on this site use, and support the ocean forest. Usually has about 3weeks or more nutes readily available in the soil. Personally, I'm very happy with the texture and growing out of it. I don't have any experience with the happy frog though.

Thanks I contacted fox farm and they said ocean forest is the best and it has enough perlite in it already for excellent drainage. so I'll go with light warrior for seed and clone. then transplant into 3 gal smart pot using only ocean forest. feed black strap molasses during flowering and flush the last week or so. can you re use soil? I hate to buy 3 bags of this stuff every grow.

I wouldn't advise reusing your soil simply because the nutrients and microbes that were once there will probably be gone. Also, if there were to be a disease or pests in the soil, they will be carried over to the next plant and have that much more time to spread.
