Great solution to light proofing pc fans!

Today i stumbled upon this contraption

i think that it will work great for light proofing some of my fans and i thought that i would post it for people here to see. It requires no real customization and can be had for very cheap! Sorry if this has been posted before.

The inside of that ducting seems to be made of "Highly reflective" materiel! Where does the "Light proofing" come in?
