Great vacation, bad timing.

Morning All:
So me and The Spouse will be out of town for 10 days towards the end of flowering on our next round. The Spouse is having a shit-fit, thinking something will go horribly wrong.

I am of the opinion that if we feed everybody before we leave and set up some wicks for watering, check the timers and filter, and make sure the heater is set (it's automatic, fucking awesome), we should be cool like lemonade. We *do* have 1 or 2 people who can come and check 'em, but I wouldn't want to ask them to come over here more than 1 or 2 times, they live waaaay on the other side of town. I don't wanna be a pain in the ass.

However there's lots of people on here who've done this before and I'd like to know if I forgot anything. The Spouse is on here more than me these days so I know he'll see it tonight while I'm working. :-P

Advice please, many many thanks!

Hey i went on vacation for 5-7 days? My plants were just going into flowering and i bought a couple of those mini aqua globes :P
They worked pretty well when i came back my plants were dry and thirsty as hell but after 2 days of water they had all pretty much bounced back.

Just make sure you have a system to dole out water evenly and you will be fine.
On an equally important note you should make sure the chance of a fire starting is 0% as that will cause a whole host of problems much larger than losing some bud.

But now im curious, where are you going :-)

EXACTLY! I don't think the house insurance would pay us much if they found out the house burned down because we were growing cheeba in the walk-in closet. We're going to Mexico and aren't pushing our luck which means no weed for 10 days. We'll be cranky but when we get home out tolerance will be in the toilet... And that's a good thing!

Might be too late but I really love the CAP HLC-3e high temp cut off. I bought one for each ballast after I started growing and a speedster fan controller failed. It could of caused a fire and I lost a lot of young plants. It kills power to your lights if the temp gets above what you set it at and then restores power 15min later if the temp gets below what it's set at. It's great insurance against a failed fan or controller .

your homeowners insurance probably wont pay anything if its determined that your grow caused the fire. That is part of your policy exclusions.
