Greedings

Hi, i'm new here (but not new to green!), and as many of you likely noticed, i substituted the 't' in "greetings," with a 'd.' This is my brand of humor (it's also ironic because i'm not greedy at all, and i realize i'm probably setting myself up for all sort of inaccurate accusations... but such is life!). I also like to explain my unfunny jokes (over-explain, even), just to make sure no one thinks i suck at spelling; i'd rather tell bad jokes than misspell words. I also don't like to capitalize 'i,' unless it's at the beginning of a sentence; i'm just not that important, and i feel it's a bit arrogant to go around Capitalizing Myself. I prefer the subtlety of understatement anyway... although i suppose this introduction contradicts that!

Anyway, been browsing a bit, lots of useful info here... but i realized i was going to have to ask questions, which required creating an account, so hello.

I also despise the word "marijuana." It's like the notorious "N-word." I dislike using derogatory terms to describe people and things i actually like.

I love Cannabis, and have known this immutable fact for ~20 years.

Prohibition is, IMO, not just immoral or unfair, not just unreasonable, but is actually illegal, and should be considered an egregious violation of our Human Rights, and more specifically, those rights afforded to all humans, among the verbiage of the U.S. Declaration of Independence, Constitution, and Bill of Rights. We are supposed to be protected from "unreasonable" intrusion/search/seizure (which i contend, includes the creation of any unreasonable law, which further includes any law based on false testimony and illegitimate "science," and especially anything based almost entirely on fear and prejudice). I could cite a plethora of protections that it is actually illegal for any portion of our gov't to bypass, because "unreasonable" automatically precludes "due process." Due process necessarily includes reason. But hey, i'm no lawyer, and the bottom line, IMO, is that no one should ever be punished for anything, unless they have harmed someone or damaged property, which cultivation of cannabis is utterly incapable of accomplishing, save for the event of a house fire, or an adulterated product, such as that often found on the black markets, causing people to get sick, due to the prohibition of safe access to something that is utterly harmless when properly produced.

However, i disagree with Hanlon's Razor, which states "never attribute to malice what can be adequately explained by stupidity." I find that stupid people have no reason or motive (and perhaps lack the capacity) to disguise their own stupidity as malice; the malicious always seem to attempt to disguise their malice as "an honest mistake." So, Cannabis prohibition is obviously conspiratorial in nature (Herer outlined this rather well)... but also required the suspension of reason, in order to become "law," which makes those laws unconstitutional, since they subverted due process... in the process.

Ideally, i want to eliminate every part of the equation of acquisition, aside from my own actions, and so that i can be completely certain of the origins and methods used, so that i can do as much as i possibly can, to ensure myself safe access, minimizing my own personal risks, as well as eliminating the potential risks posed to anyone else by participating in the trade of contraband.

I would like to believe "the time is now," and that with enough people speaking out, we could probably come together as a subculture and pressure the gov't (which i will remind everyone, is comprised entirely of human beings...) to stop being fuckers, and be reasonable: there needs to be a "no harm no foul" clause, and it needs to be connected with "essential liberties," as well as an official recognition of "my body, my choice."

We need to get a super-spam-team on this, or something. Every facebook page needs something like "my body my choice" on a rotating ad banner... we need to flood the entire globe with REASON, and DEMAND fair treatment. But people are scared, and i do understand. They will make their choices, and i will make mine.

Meanwhile, i need to grow some nugs! We only live once, and so i refuse to spend my life submitting to tyranny and oppression, especially of the most unreasonable kind. If i harm no one, i've done nothing wrong, even if they murder me for it. I'm not all that keen on sticking around in this world, if that's how it's gonna be. And since that's how it already is... there is only one acceptable choice i can make.

(i also have multiple ailments and afflictions, and would certainly qualify for an MMJ card... but moving is not an available option for me, for the foreseeable future, so i gotta do what i gotta do, to attempt to preserve my well-being, even if some terrorist tyrant tries to revoke my right to reduce my own suffering, while increasing my enjoyment of my remaining time as this person on this planet... and besides, it should be completely legal anyway!)

Funny. There's a guy here that thinks he is God and he capitalises Me, My AND I
Hah, well... i wanted to respond to that, but i'm "gun shy" about theological arguments, and i'm not looking to provoke one.

I will say that it's "possible" that some unimaginable "being" could perhaps be responsible for the existence of our universe... but beyond that, i have yet to encounter any evidence or indication that any of this universe was intentionally made by any sentient entity (unless you count the human and other terrestrial sentient entities who decide to act to modify their/our environment here on earth; that counts as "sentient beings creating things" i think... and in some ways, you could say "we are creating this part of the universe, ourselves, right now..."). I do, however, understand the appeal of the notion that "there must be more than this." I just don't think it's reasonable to insist things we have no way of observing or testing... and it's definitely not reasonable to escalate any theological disagreement into violence (which history shows happens quite often).

You know what i believe? I believe in Cannabis. I can even prove it exists. But my legalese isn't fluent enough to convince everyone else that it's a good thing; i think that those who refuse to understand, need to have a specialized series of prompts and stimuli constructed, in order to teach them what they're unwilling to learn. That might be even more difficult than it sounds (as evidenced by the last ~80 years or so...). I think we're lucky to even exist at all, lucky to have been born human instead of as chickens in a coup, and lucky that cannabis also exists, and that we are both aware of its benefits to us, and also able to access it (regardless of those who attempt to harm us for doing so).
