Greenhouse question

Okay well to start off my first outdoor grow i was gonna build a cheap greenhouse. PVC pipes and plastic cover. Nothing big just something thats like 4 x 8'. Ive been looking online just for info on some kinda plastic to cover the greenhouse in, however I'm only able to find higher end greenhouse films. My question is can i just get a roll of clear plastic from home-depo? Something that they would use in construction as a vapor barrier or maybe even a painters drop clothe film? And any other input as to anything else important to have for a greenhouse to work well. Ventilation, security, tips or tricks.

PS: All im looking to grow is a few lowryder strains so im not worried about having big bushes. Wanted to see how this will work out in my yard. Also i plan on growing an actual vegetable garden so it won't just be pot out in my backyard.

Thanks

nooo man
you dont want something thats trantsparrents
get a white cover
becuase a transparent one will let too much light in and cook your plants
and a white cover is better cuz ppl cant see what your growing inside !

thx man thats what i needed to know. so by white cover you mean like a white plastic oh any sort or like a semi transparent? Could you recommend anything useful from home depo or a hydro shop thats doesn't cost like 5 bucks a sq foot.

Clear plastic would be fine, it just depends whether you want the privacy with the white plastic. Both ways it works the same - simply put - the sun emits UV rays which have a short wave length, and can penetrate through the plastic. When they hit the plants they come back as radiation with longer wave lengths, and cannot penetrate through the plastic, thus, the heat is stored in the greenhouse.

excellent. i picked up a giant roll of semitransparent plastic sheeting. if it works the same why not have a little extra privacy? i was thinking about not installing a vent system. just some fans to circulate all of that sweet CO2. but i would love some advice from an experienced greehouser.

Nice job man. What you have to remember is, plants take in CO2, and give out oxygen, so as you can imagine, if you enclose an area and leave a plant inside, eventually there will be no CO2 present in the room, as the plant will have used it all. So some ventilation is going to be necessary.
