greetings from high altitude growing zone

Hi all,
just wanted to introduce myself. New to the forum, I will be growing a few plants next spring/summer in order to keep myself supplied since I have no contacts to speak of anymore.

I have some land in southern colorado which sits at about 8,000' elevation. Short growing seasons, but lots of sun and some fairly reliable monsoonal rains. Looking to start them indoors in the early spring, then move them outside to a discreet location for the rest of the season.

Starting to shop around for seeds that might do well in these conditions, and am amazed at the varieties available - I used to just get bag seed, stick in ground, and let er rip. It's nice to be able to choose some quality seed for my limited harvest. I'd like to know of some varieties that would do well with altitude and short season. Anyone else been down this path in the mountainous 'high' country?

Damn. I thought you were going to say you lived in the himalayas and growing some native land race or something.

No, but really, there are strains that are for growing in climates with a short season. I would never grow autos but maby they would fit your growing needs. The higher elevations get more UVB which equals more resin as far as I know. Good luck man.
