Grow Box Plywood?

"Better" how? It's a piece of wood.

I'd just but 1/2" osb, because it's cheap and won't warp. It also won't hold up to water, so if your going to leave it unfinished and get it wet, go with plywood.

It can be better because one of the woods can go bad faster than the other and the other might not be strong enough

I wanted to grow tent but right now I'm kind of low on money so I wanted to save some money and i figured to just build one
Are you sure building a wood box is cheaper than buying a tent?

5 sides at $9 a side is $45, plus time, framing lumber (another 20 some dollars), screws / nails, ect. You can get a grow tent for $70-100, and probably less on craigslist (http://www.ebay.com/itm/HYDROPONICS-GROW-TENT-SIZE-2-6FT-x-1-5FT-x-2-6FT-WHITE-/250999019366?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3a70b51766)

Unless you already have all the wood / tools, I doubt you'll save much money. Besides, the tent will probably be better, just because you can take it apart and move it around.
