Grow Cabinet Help!

Hi, I am new to these forums and would appreciate some help/tips on how I should set up my grow cabinet. There will be pics of the cabinet below.

The Dimensions are:

Door: L=2.5ft W=1.33ft
Entire Cabinet: L=6.33ft W=2.5ft
Platform: L=1.25ft W=2.5ft


I am only going to grow one plant for now for personal use. If you think I can grow more please tell me. I have been doing research for a while now, so I pretty much know what is going on and I know the terms. But I am not saying I am an expert, I still have stuff to learn. That is why I am here. It is pretty hard to find tutorials for a 2x2 cabinet/closet.

-Some questions I would like to ask are:

How bad would 1 plant smell?
What is the best light wattage for this small of a place?
Whats the best strain to buy? (I was thinking Big Bud)


Dont mind the airplans and cars lol I can take those down for more room if needed.

I do plan do seal up those holes at the bottom or some how make them into ventilation. I am most likely going to get rid of the 4 door and make them into 2 solid doors. The backing of the cabinet is very thin and not properly on the back so I will get a better back. The 2 windows next to the cabinet could act as a dumpster for the smell by leading a tube with a fan to go outside to push out the air. These are just some ideas I was thinking of doing. If there are any tips or suggestions you can give me please do!

Remember this is my first time, so I might have said something inaccurate or false, or just a stupid idea. So please correct me.

If you want me to put any more pics up of the cabinet I can, or if you want me to give more info about it (I think I covered it) so it will help me.

couple questions. How important is stealth? If you go with a CMH (thinking a 150W) would be great. A bunch of Cfl's wouldn't need as much air flow so quieter. For strains I've heard Northern Lights is low smell. I think a Carbon Filter is the way to go. Hope that helps.

could not be more right

u could go 400w flower and 125 or even flouro veg underneath for perpetual cycle. be usre to vent both rooms as iotll get hot once that door is closed...

for smell, carbon fileter, plus can fan, for less heat, CFLs for sre, but go with the 400 hid. cool that down and youll be golden. you can get up to 3 maybe 4 plus the vegging below in same cabinent. best of luk keep us posted! use flouros for vegging and babies underneath and enjoy the never ending flow of personals!

400W in 1.875 sq.ft. is 213W/sq.ft Or so Over Kill. You'll fight the heat for sure if you go with that. 1 or 2 plants will fill it. What's your Height?

I just wouldn't want my neighbors to smell the plant if I led tubes outside (if thats even possible). Also, ive heard some Carbon filters are a bit noisy and I have also heard they are quite. Which is true? I am not going all out on the grow. Maybe $100 or less. Seeds, lights, fans, tubes for air filtration. And do PC fans work well. They seem pretty popular.

The height of the entire cabinet is 6.33ft including the top shelf with the cars, if this is whats your asking. I was also thinking of just doing one 100W light. would that work for 2 plants or just 1.

DIY carbon scrubber atleast, this will ensure you are around for a second grow.

D2, I have a 2x2 box made of panda film, I use a 4 bulb 2 foot T5 fixture. I run 2 bulbs of each spectrum from start to finish and do either one or two plants. I think that one is better, if you do two you are going to have to tie them up some. You can keep the lamp about 2-3 inches from the top of the plants, they will generate some heat and you will need a small fan. The temps will depend on your room temps, of course. Yes it will stink, are you in a house or an apartment? I too have heard that the Northernlights are not as bad so I bought some. They are only about 2 inches tall right now, so nothing to report there. Good luck with whatever you land on, bye the way, I use hempy buckets in that box.

I am in a house. Do you think it would smell in just my room or the entire house? And would a cycling air freshener next to the cabinet help the smell? Also do you have any pictures of your set up? If you do, please post them on here.

Hey dude, Been looking through this thread I can see you are having same issues I was having last week, I only started last week and you can see my progress on my thread so far, For that cupboard you would be best positioning it somewhere either close to a window or close to a attic crawl space like mine.. this will minimize your smell. You need not worry about smell for the time being as your plants arent going to smell for 40-50 days at least, giving you enough time to buy/build a extractor fan and carbon filter/scrubber. I'd get your seeds and your lights sorted as priority 1 so you can get the ball rolling. Im not an expert on this as I said i only started last week but if I were you thats where i'd start Good luck bud
