you can buy a cabinet at lowes or home depot, you will have to assemble it yourself, you can also make a frame out of pvc pipe and use plastic to cover it,I guess it all depends on how you want it to look,I wouldnt screw plywood to plywood it wont be strong enough and the screws will pull out.I scored a shelf unit that was in a store it used to hold soda its has adjustable shelfs and is super strong, all I did was cover it up with plywood and some doors on the front and now its my veg and clone box works great just have a few things I want to change to make it easy to work in.so theres an option for you you can use that metal shelfing and cover it whith what ever you want. good luck peace and grow on

A 4x4 cabinet is easier to work with because plywood is 4x8. I built mine out of 5 sheets 1/2" plywood (cheapest) and 12 2x2's. Total cost for wood + screws was around $130. I have no doubt that these materials can be had for much cheaper. I also added 2x3 for skids because mine's on a cement floor.

I'd be happy to help you plan it out, ask me anything you want. I check back here at least once a day.

I make custom cabinets and you can use plywood only w/ out a frame. I wouldn't use 1/2" ply unless there was a frame to screw into. I wouldn't use less than 3/4" ply. I would also get the ply pre laminated with at least 1 side of white laminate. So that way you won't have to line it w/ a reflective material. Save steps and money 1 pre-lam 3/4" ply should be around $55 to $65 a sheet.

I can also help you with designing your cab and making a cut list.

If you have absolutely no building or constructing experience you might want to reconsider building a cabinet and just get a tent from amazon or something. All you got to do is assemble. And when you're not using it you can also store it. The 3x3 cab might be hard to move around or store. Most interior doors are not 3' wide. They're usually 2'-6" wide.
