I'm growing this baby next and I'm looking forward to it as i have never had northern lights before

Great job on the grow, fun following along with some younger autos that I've going on. The northern lights were interesting to me, especially since they're supposedly not as fragrant in plant form. I had no idea my grow room was going to smell like someone ran over a skunk
. There's a vortex 6 inch inline fan with carbon filter on a UPS truck somewhere which is really going to make my wife happy...

haha yes I'm sure she will be. Yeah the grows going good, I have had to cut back a little on the nutrients due to nuit burn but that's the only trouble I have had with this 1 so far. Soon as I have dried my syrup out in my tent in total darkness I will be popping that Northern lights X Big Bud seed and whacking that straight in my tent, I will probably do another grow journal on that 1 aswel. Hows your Med Gom 1.0 grow doing? put some pictures up if you like don't worry about hijacking the thread. we all love growing

My syrup cant come round quick enough as I'm down to my last few nugs 
. This is the last bit of lemon diesel that I have left but I will 100% be doing this 1 again as it came out so strong it puts you to sleep. Its my night time smoke, I will have to start paying for it soon but I don't like buying from the streets as you never get what you pay for round my area. I know cash croppers are only in it for the money but you would think they would put a little bit more effort into it so people enjoy it and actually get stoned from it.

So the first one is actually older by 2 days but I've been having a harder time with her and I think it's the 5 gallon vs 3 gallon pot. I'm pretty sure I had / have some overwatering going on, the big pot with a small plant just doesn't dry out quick enough or even uniformly. I hope I have her under control now. The second two are of the one in the 3 gallon pot, they look like completely different plants... she's standing tall and growing a lot bigger, trunk is solid. Either they're different phenos or the lighting is the difference. The bigger one just has a 5000K LED and a 6500K CFL lighting her and the smaller has a COB 3500K. Actual power draw is only 140W combined but the COB is suposedly very efficient. the one under the COB never stretched for light so like I said not sure if it's 2 phenos or the light difference. I think I'm seeing pistols now.. they're 21 days and 19 days from sprout. Funny, the second one was just a backup in case the first one didn't sprout and I think she's going to be the winner.

Well... there coming along nicely aint they, i find that auto fan leafs are always big and bushy and sometimes you have to tuck the fan leafs out the way to get light to other bud sights. Yes it could be different phenos, but if you have got different pot sizes with different lighting it could be that aswell. I grew 2 blue cheese couple of years ago and they where different phenos 1 stayed short and bushy and the other 1 was tall, the shorter 1 was the one that had a stronger smell to it and it was a bit stronger in the smoke. That's the problem with growing from seeds, me myself for the last year have been using nice cuttings from my area they stay the same height and grow even throughout the grow which I prefer.
I always used to have a hard time controlling temperatures in my little dr60, the tents so small that my 250w hps gets a little hot in there sometimes, especially during the summer months! but I have that under control now as i open up the little side flaps on my tent a touch and use that as air intake. And during the summer months i plug in my speed controller for my little 5" fan that blows air about my tent and knock the speed down a touch it makes it a bit cooler in my tent.
Yes you have pistols, its always nice to see them white pistols, I'm itching to look inside my tent as i haven't seen them all weekend
. When my plants are fully trained, stretched has stopped, and the colas are as even as i can get them i tend to stop looking at them daily. I like to look at them every time i water which is around every 4-5 days in the winter months and maybe every 3-4 days during the summer, that way instead of seeing the small growth that they produce every day you see a big difference in bud size and is much more satisfying for me. Everyone has a different method for growing that's just my method. Keep up the good work mate your plants look good and healthy to me, your doing a good job

Find myself checking them in the morning, when I get home from work, and right before bed. I have to look at timeline pictures to remind myself that they're actually growing.

I never used to have that much control, I used to watch them daily too. Nothing wrong with it, its a good thing really to check them daily to make sure there doing alright. I unzipped the bottom part of my tent today to just check the soil I really had the urge to unzip the rest and have a look as I haven't seen them since thur-fri last week, but I fought off the urge my soil was still slighty moist so I zipped her back up. I will look at them tue when I next water, I will have a nice surprise when I take a look as the buds will be either looking rather nice and tasty or... my plant will be dead! I shouldn't joke about like that haha.
Sorry to hear about 1 of your ladies, I wouldn't know what the small brown spots are unfortunately. I have some nuit burn on my tips too keep forgetting how sensitive autos are. I can only up the dose on grow/bloom/topmax by 1/2 a ml per litre of water if I go any more than that my tips get worse. Yes I think your right give her a couple more days see how she is if she is not getting any better focus on the other 1. Hope she pulls through tho, keep us updated about it.

In the last 6 days I have seen a big change in this plant, the buds are growing very nicely and quickly. So I am looking forward to seeing how much these buds fatten up over the next 3-4 weeks. This syrup will not be cured in time for Christmas... but will be smokable as it will have around 9-12 days drying out time in pitch darkness just before Christmas. I will do another update in a weeks time, and will do a full smoke report at the very end after a good 3-4 weeks cure in glass jar.

Thank you, im only using 4ltr of water for this 12ltr pot. So at this stage... I'm mixing up 3ml of bio grow, 5ml of bio bloom and 3ml of topmax to 4ltr of water. I am going to keep her at 3ml of grow from now on, I don't like giving autos too much grow ( just a personal preference ). The only nuits that will keep going up from now on is the bio bloom and the topmax slowly slowly. I will flush my plant with just plain room temperature water for the last week or so ( normally works out about 2-3 flush's ). Go on... I let ya fuck her lol

How you find the bio-bizz nutes? I've got these but want to get a standard grow/bloom style feed as well .
I'll fuck her when ya flush , nothing worse then a dry plant haha

To be honest with ya mate, I have been growing for nearly 7 years now and I have only used BioBizz products. Never used anything else so I cant compare haha. You know the saying "if it aint broke don't fix ia haha" BioBizz have always done me proud. I am a very fussy smoker and my plants have always come out top draw . I use light mix biobizz for seedlings and I use the all mix biobizz for cuttings. You should pick up that tester kit and give it a go mate

At £14 for grow/bloom/topmax I don't see why not , not biggest bottles but with 1 plant , watered around 1-2L a week I don't need drums full lol
If you've used it happily for 7 years without complaint I might just give a chance at being my basic feed with my little AN extras lol
You see any benefit into adding things like big bud + overdrive alongside the 3 set or have I just fell for the marketing ? Lol

£14 is a steal, id grab that haha. I haven't actually used the big bud or the overdrive. I might actually do a bit of research on the internet today see how other people are finding them. I have heard people getting good results too just by swapping the topmax for bio heaven. Grow/Bloom/Topmax are the only 1s I have used I have never mixed anything else with them lol. I'm too scared to try anything else incase something go's wrong lol. I might use heaven instead of topmax on my next northern lights auto straight after this 1.

Well my understanding is the big bud and that are extras and would be added alongside your usual grow,bloom,topmax ..
If they do what they say there gonna do I'll be a happy guy but still won't really know if it was anything to do with them if I do get good results lol

How's everything going ? I wanted to ask you when you switched from grow to bloom nutes. Having trouble figuring out when to switch. I narrowed down my earlier problem to distilled water with calmag ending up at around 4-5 ph. Unfortunately I took that to be overwatering and over nuting so I think I've underfed both of them. Couldn't see the nitrogen deficiency until I turned off my brightest lights but it was there. Given both of them a dose of grow, and they're responding nicely but there's flowers all over the place, so I don't want to deprive the bud development but also don't want a nitrogen deficiency showing up again.
