Yea man, I am in love with the CMH. I absolutely love the results i'm getting alot more than with my HPS ( I was using a Hortilux Eye). The final product seems to have way more 'oomph' in every category.

Sorry the past 2 weeks haven't had any updates...the holidays kept me busy. Anyways, there has been alot of progress in 2 weeks Both plants have really been doing well, with a slight nod to the Hydro as far as size goes. It's clearly overtaken the soil as far as how much she has stretched during flower. However, the soil plant seems to have a slightly tighter bud structure. It's very interesting to see the slight differences.

I'm sure there are many reasons for the differences ( some of which are due to my inexperience ), but I attribute it mostly to Hydro being very efficient at allowing the plant to just simply grow..the roots can go crazy...where as in soil..the plant expends a bit more energy pushing the roots through the dirt. However..I expected this, and for me..I'm more about the quality -vs- the quantity...so even if the hydro proves to be a better producer the winner for me will still be the one that has the best overall flavor + effect.

Interesting, but your photos aren't really highlighting any difference. Can you get closer with a macro function on your camera?

Totally can get in close. I'm thinking that there just aren't really enough differences to be that visible just yet..the difference is mostly visible at the larger level...you can clearly see the Hydro plant is more robust looking as an overall plant...however, at the macro level...the buds look exactly the same with a slight tilt to the dirt side in being a little more 'dense' ( as dense as buds are at 3 weeks into flower).

I will take some more pics tonight to hopefully better illustrate the differences...but to be honest, the visual differences between the actual buds themselves are pretty miniscule. Is there a particular comparison of sorts you want me to focus on in the pics?

Shit, sorry guys. I dropped the ball on this. My computer died and I was out of the loop for a while.

The end results were that the Hydro produced about 50% more weed. It was more oily and resinous than the soil, but somehow just had almost no flavor. It tasted 'clean'...but no denying it's potency was just as good as the soil.

The soil...more smallish and compact buds, less weight, very close in looks to the hydro, but the hydro looked better with it's bigger buds. However, the soil tasted about 1000x better.

I'm not sure why there was such a radical difference between them as far as flavor goes, but since I grow for just myself I prefer the soil grown and I believe I will grow in soil from now on!

Again, I'm sorry for having dropped out of sight for so long...computer issues
