grow room advice

i was looking for some advice this will be the first time i grow indoors but not my first time growing weed. i'm going to slap together a tent grow area that's about 5x5 in my utility room down stairs in the basement its typically pretty chilly down there even more during the winter usually hangs around 68f (if not abit chiller) and during the winter its a consistent -10 c to -30 c from here on outside the house. i was thinking of venting the grow tent into the large basement room down stair its probably about 35 ft by 18-20ft.

the basement will be able to absorb the heat pretty easily i think since it's a house from the 70's and it feels like you can feel a draft from every wall but i was wondering if a dehumidifier in the room would be able to handle the humidity.

this is the list of equipment im thinking of getting, some advice would be great.

sun system ac/de fusion air cooled with a 1000w de bulb

canfilter

intake and out fan
hurricane inline 745 cfm fans with controllers

im hoping that i can cool the tent down strictly by circulating cold air from my basement with maybe a jimmied up water cooling system that ill slap together also i was going to have the grow room exhaust through the light fan since the air does not pass over the light.but around the enclosure the lights in.

You can get away with a dehumidifier I’m sure. It would be a shame to dump heat outside in the winter especially if you need some moisture in the house during the winter like most houses. Basements are great in the summer for cooling reasons but you may consider exhausting outside during summer for humidity concerns.
I like how Ac infinity fans have 8 or so buzz free speeds to fine tune throughout the year but I don’t know how long they last. Good luck

yah i'm not so concerned about the summer this will be pretty much just a winter and spring/ max early summer. i'm hoping to get 2 crops in before sumer i have a bunch of 5ts that i use for my veggie plants that i'll be using to veg the second crop while the other flower then i'll probably be to busy with work, getting my veggie garden and outdoor plants ready and all the other life stuff.

what do you think of the lights? i tried to find info on them but the only things that really come up seem to been kinda paid advertisement imo

I don’t know much about lights but that light you linked will grow buckets of weed no doubt.
It seems like the big boys like gavitas but they can’t be cooled through the reflector. A lot of people swear buy them though. And then ya got your copper metal halide crew, and your led crew. For the kinda money your gonna drop on that Light make sure you understand all the benefits and drawbacks of each route.

I would go with a Hlg or timber or similar led light but for no good reason. I have no proof they’re worth it? And there expensive compared. I’ve never had the pleasure to use hps lighting and everyone knows it grows fantastic buds. How about a cheaper 1000 watt hps till you figure out better what you want?

yah i was thinking id go with hlg but they are pricey and i know to little about leds and if they are worth it, also this hps is only a few hundred more than a normal setup. i'm a cheap fuck that will spend on quality items but i won't spend twice i'd rather buy something a bit nicer ( if it's actually worth it) then to buy twice. thats why im leaning towards balling out this grow a little because i plan to never upgrade the lights or ventilation until things break.

I use a DE 1000 watt open with 630 cmh supplemental on canopy that is 7.5 by 5. I run open fixture.

Sorry heat is not bad off one thousand if you air cool the hood you should be fine. Might bring a lil outside air in if temps are too high but if you run 72-75 degrees and add a co2 bag you should be fine. If you dial it in the yield is awesome

do you have an ac system or just straight air cooled?
No a/c for winter just one 6 inch max fan set on medium exhausting off a t stat and fresh air during the summer I run a 1 ton mini split room is 7 by 11 but I like to move around so I haven’t maxed space

I have used several leds in past but hps is the way to go DE hps you can add a lil spectrum cheap by going to 1000 bulbs they sell two 105 watt actual wattage daylight cfls for less than 20 bucks. I used them before the cmh. On a 5by 5 canopy yield was around 2 lbs dry with good strains

That sounds amazing and what im looking to mimic. Do you have a grow journal? Also did you vent inside like ill be doing? Did you have any issues controlling the smell and humidity those are two are very important things to me

I have never journaled I don’t have the patience lol but I can send some pics and I exhaust to outside and don’t worry about the smell now it’s is a legal medical grow if you are gonna exhaust through a carbon filter I’d maybe bump up to 8 inch. It is the length of duct and carbon filter will kill you at 6 inch.

If you do run an intake fan it could be smaller I use an intake but I just put a six inch duct booster in my supply which is a ten inch duct I used a y and reducers that blow straight onto plants I’m good with 1630 watts open up to about 60 or 65 ambient

Can you bring in a lil outside air to basement? A Honeywell stat from home depot can control your humidity and plenum room temp by just cycling a fan to outside would not take much fan in a room that size

I do Heaven work for a living if you want I can post phone # if you need environmental help by help I mean answer questions. I believe environment is crucial running that size light otherwise you are just wasting light and energy.

What is your room height? I am at 8 ft and just grow 6 plants in 7 gallon fabric pots I use a screen and keep them under 4.5 feet max. I use a screen to help but it is not a true scroll. I think with your air cooled light I’d shoot for five feet to 5 1/2 on a 8 ft ceiling. With a lil auxiliary lighting you oughta be able to get 4 to 8 ounces per plant depending on strain with minimal training. Watch Kyle kush manas chiropractic on you tube then set up screen at around 30 inches off floor. Not for scrogging for support anything below that point get rid of and shoot for a 60 inch plant you will be killing it
