grow room idea? crazy output

ok so ive been playin around with ideas for a new grow room, wut i came up with was a verticle grow stadium with a nft (nutrient film technique)

the plan is to have 4 rows on each side, a row will be harvested every 2 weeks. These techniques are proven to work very well, if not the best in some peoples opinion. Another technique a little off topic here, that i have yet to try or hear results from, (THIS IS NOT PROVEN YET) is a 18 hour day cycle. I read about it today and its pretty interesting i think its somthin worth checkin out if it works it saves u a rediculus ammount of time and money.

did you even read it? its sayin 18 hour day not 24 hour day ur thinking 18on 6off. What they are saying is 14on 4off. Think of it as if your growing your weed on another planet with shorter days.

im not scientist i just red this theory. But when you really think about it, it makes alot of sence. and nature isnt always 18 hours of light all day, theres clouds, trees shading them out and other factors. So saying changing natures intentions is somthin everyone would already be doin by growing indoor, controlling the climate. but lets try to get this thread back on the main topic of the grow room design. this light thing was just somthin to get people thinking there is a thread all about it here:

because if it works you will get the same yeild with 75% of the time and save energy! if you run an 18 hour day your cutting grow time by 25%.....and your bills!

I don't see the need in over complicating the light cycle. Where would you get an 18 hour timer? All the timers I've seen have 24 hours.

Are you thinking about running all 8 tubes with individual reservoirs?
Or 4 each on 2 res? or all on one?

The problem with a perpetual style garden like this is that most of these systems use a single res for all of the tubes. Since you'll have several stages running that will require different nutrients and flushing, you'll never really be able to dial them in correctly with out an individual res for each tube.

I'd consider doing a res on each side and harvesting each side every 4 weeks.

I've been designing a vertical aero system similar to this. I'm very interested to hear how this turns out for you.

What light are you considering?

yeah u make a good point ill probably do 2 resevoirs. and i think for this 1000W hps will be best. maybe 2 depending on the room size.

yeah i thought the same thing and i made many plans based around 1 bulb. I might just consider doin 400W verticle closet grows and setup a few closets.

How big are you thinking about making the 400w setup? You really need the canopy to be pretty close to make the 400w effective.

im either gonna have 1 big room with that stadium like setup or just 400W in 4 closets. roughly 4x4 area with a shelv probably 3 feet up id say, maybe 4. I think im moving next month so ill have to wait and see when i get my new place. im probably just gonna leave this crop here at this house and let it finish instead of moving them.

oi i clicked on your stupid post and got a trojan..... could anyone else plz let me know if it done it to therm.... i think its cos i tried the night cycle thing....

i was cooked ... but all i can say is its bad news... and dont try the simulator.... thought it may be a bit dodgy but i decided to try anyhoo do a scan a scan and let mr know plz someone.... im pretty sure it only gets itself attatched to you when you click the simulator... iif you did that i recommend virus scan...... im pretty sure it was that site that gave ma computer herpies.... id it wasnt everyone really needs to know now....

and sure as shit i had a trojan

your still going to need a seperate vegatating room, so keep that in mind. your flower room will be your 12/12 hour and your veg room will be a 18/6 ( i start the first 10 days on a 24hr flourescent light then switch to a 18/6 metal halide in my veg room.
i would recomend 2 1000w (switchable ballasts) with no reflectors and placed centrally, vertically in the middle of your room.
