grow room to HOT/vent question

put a hole in the bottom of your grow room and another hole in the floor of your shed. u should be good to go kid

you need to know the cfm rating of your carbon filter for 2 reasons, 1. you need it to be able to exchange the air in the room often and you need to match it with a fan that is equivalent or higher in cfm's so that it does it's job.
This is where cfm's become important cubic feet of your space compared to that of your air control equipment.

If you just use plastic to close off the ceiling you will have leaks inevitably and noise from the ventilation blowing it around.
A piece of plywood, gyprock, presswood whatever then plastic coat that (tape all joints)

i have a 6" round 12" long piece of dryer vent from my window to my tent and i vent from a 4 1/2" muffin fan (made in 1988...stong as hell) that came with a filter and cover.

Ok.. carbon filter says compairable up to 700. Also fyi, the walls of the grow area are this reflective fire plywood. Nice and reflective...

Yeah, you'll need to block that last foot of open ceiling space.
I saw where you're 1st posted 4 x 4 x 7 = 112 cubic feet
You fan is more than adequate for that, especially if it's 500CFM let alone 250 CFM.
You can also slap the white poly film on the walls and floor too. You ever watch Dexter !? lol
The hydro stores sell large rolls for such purposes.
Eventually I would insulate the walls then slap up sheet rock or ply-wood.
Lowes had 4ft x 8ft insulated styrofoam for houses, and it's 2 inch thick.
That's what the lid of my coolers are made from.

As for question yeah go passive. I have a passive intake at the bottom of my room with pantyhose over the duct lol. It works well with my exhaust pulling from the top, creates the right negative pressure for a succesful grow.

Okay I get what I need to do for the passive intake. Thanks everyone! The last thing I'm trying to figure out is how to cover the last foot up at the ceiling. Right now its 100 reflective plywood. Tarp of some sorts for the top? Something that will block the light?

this thread is great. what a fucking pissant weebrain is. cawolves, you should order one of the bigger like 6 or 8" duct booster fan from home depot or lowes..they have smaller ones for like 35 bucks... i bought one once for my exhaust hoping it would cool down my room...it didnt really help me worth a shit, but for an intake that would be the fan to get my friend

another thing you could do is buld a box 4x4x4 what ever size you need. cut a hole in it for a window air unit. place the unit in so the exhaust blows into the box. vent the box outside with abooster fan. im sure this will have to be played around with... could even place the box outside and cover the unit with somehting so no one can see it.

didnt even read it pal, passive intakes are for shower rooms, not cannabis grow rooms or sheds, so i suggest he goes your route, make a passive intake blow the air out and hope for the best.

passive intake will not solve the original problem which is heat, ...YOU WILL NEED TWO FANS FOR THIS... you will have to empty 1 third of your grow space every minute for fresh air, so let us work it out now.
your room is (4 feet x 4 feet x 6 feet ) (1.2 metres x 1.2 metres x 2 metres high = 2 .88 square metres x 60 minutes = 172.8 cmh divide this by three = 57.6 square metres an hour you have to empty, and that is for FRESH AIR ONLY for best plant production, any heat you have to get rid of will have to be stronger fans.
