Grow Tent Club

Hey tent growers question for you I am about to purchase a 4 x 8 tent from HTG and was wondering will 2 600 watters do the trick??? Or am i better off with 2 1000 watters??? The tent will mainly be closed I am gonna run exhuast threw 2 magnum xxxl reflectors 6" ... Just debating on the power.. thanks

Well with that size of a tent (32 sq ft) I would definitely go with the 2 1000 watters. You'll get much better lumens per sq ft plus better light penetration. Obviously if you do decide to go that route heat may become an issue depending on your other environmental factors and of course your electric bill will be much more. So kinda gotta weigh the various factors. You can always start small and grow from there. Good luck man.

i need some help please..
im planning on getting the DR 120 by jardin 3'11" x 3'11"x 6'6"
im going to run a 400 watt HPS in it as well. with either a vented hood or cooltube
my questions are
1.cooltube or vented hood
2. what size,strength,and amount of intakes and exhaust fans
3. what size carbon filter (smell is deff and issue better be safe then sorry i want it to be completely smell proof.)
4. where do i put the exhaust and intake as in intake bottom exhaust top
5. and what do i connect to what with the ducting carbon filter to intake fan to hood/cooltube to exhaust and out

sorry for all this.. ive only done a pc grow before. i started a thread for this but havent gotten much answers. i was planning on buying a kit setup but im gonna save money doing it this way individually.

Tent: 36x20x60"
400W MH/HPS
4" Inline Fan 190cfm
6" cool tube
18" carbon filter
GH Waterfarm
*SCROG
GH Flora Nova Bloom

thats literally 100% what I want lol... 400w...

i'd be using a 6 inch fan with a higher cfm rating though... thats just me and my area though, what temps are you pushing in there, and whats the temp on the outside of the tent?



right now i have a 250w with a 190cfm 4 inch everything... but I want to upgrade to 400w and 6 inch ducting

Temps inside the tent are 79-86. Temps outside tent are 75-80. Going to get a window ac for the room the tent is in. The central air doesn't put out that well in the room the tent is in. I wanted a 6" but I didn't think it would fit inside the tent and figured it would be a tad bit louder than what I wanted. The 4" really is perfect for the size of the tent. Keeps air moving to where the bulb doesn't get very hot. I can put my hand on the cool tube and not get hot. Everything is a really tight fit. The tent barely has enough room for it all but it worked out perfectly. It's my dream setup. Thanks.

Check out my grow. It's only at day 9 from sprout so a lot more in the coming months.

Hey peeps love the tent grows thinking of purchasing HTGs Size S 22 x 36 x 63 tent. I have a 400 hps on hand already what kind of ventilation would be good enough for this set up thanks.

Hey guys, I am looking at getting a tent and i would like to check everything out with you guys to see if it sounds like I am on the right track. It will be for my first indoor grow so I am fearing heat right now

I am looking in getting a homebox S (80cm x 80cm x 160cm ... 2.6 x 2.6 x 5.25) I would like to use a 400watt bulb.

what do you guys think? will that be okay on the heat side of things in a room that keeps about 22degrees (71 F)?

First post, so hello.

I'm looking to join the tent club, but first wanted to know if there is a recommended manufacturer? Is there a marked difference in quality of construction? Do the more expensive ones have more features?

****Essentially, is there any reason I should pay >$200 for a 4x4 space or will an $80 tent provide the same experience?****

I apologize if the question has been asked before, but there are 130 pages now, and I'm not a voracious enough reader to go through all of it.

Most tents provide the essentials .. if you just need a tent that will do for a few turnarounds do it cheap.....
If you have tons of equip and controllers and lighting and filters etc you may want to consider some of the better brands such as monster garden or secret jardin, as they use better materials and have stronger frames to support even the heaviest of lights!
the better tents have perks such as more vent options more zippers less velcro windows, stronger frames etc...
i did just fine with a <100$ tent i have although thrown that one away and have ordered my secret jardin duo so i can clone on top and bloom below in a perpetual 12/12
