if that is the size of area you are working with and all you want to spend then that is pretty ideal. a 4" inline fan would be enough for that, with a fan speed controller you would be able to set it at low... if you check the link in my sig you can see the 4x4 i use, i have 2x600w in it right now, until i move em into the 4x8 i just put together after this flower cycle is done. my personal preference is growlabs because of the windows on the doors, but secret jardin are supposed to be nice too... i got my gl120L the 4x8x7 for $330+$40 shipping on ebay, so i imagine one a lot smaller would be fairly less expensive. if you have any questions feel free to PM me, i dont post much in the forums apart from my journals, so i might not check back on this thread. one point to consider is the growlabs windows could be a potential light leak, but i have no lights in my grow room so it doesnt matter to me... just make sure you hang out in there with whatever lights are gonna be on to check for leaks... good luck.

I have that tent...3x3..with a 400w hps Cooltube + and open 150 w hps...with 2 4" vortex fans on var controls doing in & out duties. The 150 helps keep temps up (it's winter here and I keep my home about 68f), with the intake pullin filtered fresh air from my homes crawlspace to keep that heat controlled.....

I like this tent....tough frameworks orverhead which holds up my char can and cooltube with no probs and I intend to add another of the same soon. I have this tent inside a closet which is 3 1/2' x 16'.....

Just to add my two bits, I have one Secert Jardin Grow tent(DR 100. i think which is the dark room ,,but they have DS which is dark street.)anyway, got it for £60!!! thats off ebay, some said it wouldnt be light proof and shity,,not any good for 60 quid. well its 1m x 1m x2m, has a 600w hps,(abit much I have found ,,it just gets very warm in there. theres a vent fan so its all good now. ) but yeah the tent is great, great price, great quailty. In all honesty I'd get another Secert Jardin DR100 to use a veg rm, as this ones the flowering room,,but honestly its awsum. May not help you much,,but jardin have good quailty stuff,,I dnt think it will be as cheap as that mylar one from the link but cant be much more.Just a recomendation

do you have a fan speed controller? my temp runs 10F warmer in the summer if i dont have it idled down, because im sucking out the cold air from my AC too fast. i do have air cooled hoods though, so if yours are open that might make a dif.

hey, yeah its an in line vent fan with thermo and speed control. I have it set on 29-30 degree C, at about half speed. Yeah this summer Im going to run the 600 at night as it will be to warm during the summer,,thats me guessing,,,also this may be bad gardening but cause im operating at 30degrees they use water faster(even in the bloom) so I havnt really had to adjust my watering regime from when they where in veg.
So you suck and blow (excuse my language) air into and outta the tent? I should maybe look into gettin an intake ,upgrading from passive intake.

This is what I am trying to figure out. will a smaller tent be cooler because the fan completely replaces the air more times per day.
you know their ratings like 125cf.
or
Dose a larger tent take longer to heat up (more volume of gas to heat) but replaces the air less times per day.

You all have convinced me to look for a better quality. so now it comes down to Grow Lab or Secret jardin

A closet with mylar equals a poor mans tent haha
haha thats funny...

kk, i would totally suggest the growlab gl120, i own one, and you gain square footage for $14. in addition to this they also have windows with velcro (make sure to seal well, or install your own velcro flaps for added protection if your tent is in a bright room). i personally keep my room dark just out of safety. there isnt a lightbulb other than grow ligths in my grow room. here is a video that may be of help...

get a pile of timber, get your tool box out and build a proper grow cupboard.........
a tent requires no timber, no tools, and can be broken down and popped back up in less than an hour. which means it can be moved from room to room quickly if needed. a cupboard could be broke down as well, but depending on the construction, it could be a slight pain. tents arent that much, and i dont think i will ever not use tents because of it. i will eventually build a sealed room with plumbing ran underneath, but that wont be for about a year, and until then tents will serve me fine.
