Grow tent or box??

I'm looking to finally put some money into a good operation and I thought it would be best to buy a complete setup instead of DIY for my first shot. Does anyone recommend a place to find a complete set up deal or would you recommend piecing everything together? My concern with piecing together is that I have never had a box or tent before so I don't think I would know everything I would exactly need and I don't want to be running back and forth to the supply store all day.

TENT!!!!

I was at your same point and thought we could save money and time on a box but i was wrong.

You may save a few bucks in the end but you will put in way more hours building it and figuring out how to get it working and then youll never be able to move it.

They already have pre made hole for vents/ducts/fans and are more durable than wood. And they come with instructions and numbered/lettered pipes so assembly is easy.

Heres a site that sells them the cheapest i can find without lacking quality.

montergardens.com has grow room packages. You can get a 4x4x6.5 grow tent, 1000w ballast, bulb, reflector, carbon filter, fan, ect. for about a grand.

if youre handy aka good with tools and all that a grow box is cool because you can customize it for all youre needs (mostly space and environmental issues) but if youre an average joe like me id go with tent.. its just too easy to set up everything to worry about a few extra bucks

I say it depends on what you're looking for... If you're trying to do a smaller grow with a few smaller plants (because most grow boxes are smaller than most tents) go with a grow box most commercial (not custom) grow boxes are plug and play meaning that that there is only one power cord that runs every lights, fans, etc. If you want some nice beauties though you gotta go with a tent they're usually biggger that most grow boxes and alot less expesive, I know because I had this conversation with myself about 3 months ago :wall: .... Needless to say I went with the TENT!!!!! Hope this helps... 8)

Thanks for the help guys.

i got about a 600 to 700 dollar budget and I have my red card that lets me grow three in flowering and three in veg at one time. So I am trying to put together something that would allow me to grow big enough yields to make it to the next harvest. I like the shops in colorado but I would much rather grow it myself.

i want to piece together something I think because I can find better equipment but I'm worried. The price of shipping and all the box would be a hassle. I have some local stores that are ok but I don't really know prices to well so idk what's a good deal and what's not

Tent, its just so easy and ready to grow.
if you can get the material cheap or free, don't have enough room for a rent than a box might be good for you.

Well lol in that case you want to go with the tent with only a $700 budget. I have did lots of reseach on grow boxes and the bigger ones that can provide you with a decent yield are like $4,000 ($2500 was the cheapest I found) $700 will get you a nice tent set up. Good Luck!

Heres a rough list with minimal shipping and it should be a good size for you.

Heres a single tent you can get with free shipping which is usually a bitch cause theyre so heavy

PH meter+ph liquid+calibration liquid

Total list:

Total of everything on list here^

And when you add the $130 from the tent and the 10 bucks from the ph meter you hit right about $700 on the dot including shipping and everything.

OH! almost forgot if youre only growing 3 plants in flower at a time id recommend getting 5 gal buckets form home depot or lowes or walmart. even with that added i think youre still under $700

Some tips though i would buy the nutes and dirt from local stores. They tend to have the same prices and it will knock your shipping price down about 20 bucks.

Hope this helped!!!
