Grow tent set up

Can I leave one of the air cooled hood holes open as shown in the diagram ?Will I even need a air cooled hood with my fan size and small tent? Also is this a good set up? if not where can I improve?

Specs:
6 inch carbon filter
6 Inch Centrifugal Fan 440 cfm
1.2x1.2x2m (4x4x6.5f) Grow tent
600 watt mh/hps

I know they make double ended carbon filters, but most only have one open end so that setup would be impossible. I would put the filter on the other side mounted at the top and connect it to your light with ducting. Then run ducting out the other side of your light to your fan. This way your always pulling air from the top of the tent where the heat is. An air-cooled hood isn't absolutly nessacary, but a 600w light generates a good amount of heat and an air-cooled hood will make it easier to control. Plus, the cooler you keep your light the closer it can be to your plants. You may also want to get a speed controller so you can dial in the best air flow.

That setup looks good. Yes, a cooled hood would be better. I'm not saying it would be absolutly nessacary, but definitly helpful. No, a speed controller isn't nessacary, but again helpful and thier only about $20. Here's a picture of my tent, it's only a 2x4, but gives you the idea.

Probably, but I've never used them. I use rope ratchets on my light and my carbon filter.
