I don't think height is the only reason you want to mainline. I have found you can really focus in your lights to the even canopy. If you can keep them all even then you get the same sized buds. I think the biggest challenge is to get the correct spacing between the colas so they get enough light.

In coco I think you could get 8 main branches in about 7 weeks veg from the seed popping out. For me who only grows for myself and then only about once year, mainlining helps me get a great yield in my small space.

SO the Trainwreck has come down. took a little longer to trim as it had small leaves everywhere but it looks lovely. I'm such a proud father lol

Merry Christmas everyone.

Drying at 68F degrees (20C) with RH of 55%. I am hoping for a good slow dry for about 7-10 days. I've had my xmas sample and it is going to work great. Gives a great energy high and I know the taste is in there. Looking forward to the cure and really trying it out. With using >0.1gram through my vape I get high for about 15 - 30 minutes, then mellow high for about an hour more. After that, the effects are still there but I wouldn't say I'm high. I haven't hit it hard yet as I like saving the deep stone for special occasions. Looking forward to the New Year. I'm sure a few grams will disappear that night.


The best buds will be put together and not used until Feb tho. I really love good cured weed. The taste and high makes it even more enjoyable. Until that time, I'll search for 20 grams of lower grade stuff to use. I say at max I go through 4 grams a week. If I need more than that, it is t-break time.

I like to use the lesser quality first as well saving best for last
I really hate drying in summer high temps , but low RH worst possible scenario.
Mine will be done in the winter and so Ill be in similar drying conditions.

Not sure what I am doing wrong, but my 1st led grow isnt going to yield well.
I will just not use these new nutes again next run, since thats what I am blaming it on.

My first LED grow didn't go well either. Now it seems to be humming. I also blamed the nutes Even though the nutes I was using were fine, I had read so much while stoned, that I followed too many grow experts. Now I am starting to get it. Still lots to learn but I might be able to grow without wasting my power.

I am just using a flowermate 5.0s. Perfect starter vape as it has everything you want, long battery life, clear air flow, glass stem, large oven, good taste, easy to use. I do want desktop vape and another handheld just to see if there is any real difference. I used to pack the whole bowl and use it. Then I tried some weed from holland in it and noticed that I couldn't finish a whole bowl without passing my limit. So this grow I aimed at good plants and they have not disappointed. Now I hardly fill it at all, and when I want a heavier stone I just add some scissor hash to the top of the weed .... then come on here ..... weeeeeeeeeee

Seems I was a way better grower when I first started.
I have my tent in my bedroom closet.
Airflow isnt good, and I regret this tent purchase now. Thee is only one vent hole on top, and the other ones (2) on sides are too small.
At night I have to close the closet to keep light from getting in the tent through the top.
There wasnt room under the clothes bar for an exhaust fan, so I am using a large-ish powerful axial fan for ventilation.
Light will get in there if the closet door is all the way open
When I open the tent in the morning my temp.RH meter shows high RH peaks during the night.
I think the lack of air exchange might be stunting their growth

I have a pax, but I bought it used.
Doesnt work well as i refuses to heat most of the time.
The warranty isnt transferable...oh well.
The one you have is half what I paid for mine used, maybe Ill try one.

sorry for the long non-update.

I thought I better share the end report. All up from the Blue Dream, Trainwreck and OG Kush I got 180 grams. Not the gram per watt that I wanted but it is still the most I've grown in one go. I still think I over dried it even though the stems did not break. I separated the buds into, tops, mids, popcorn and finally trim. While the tops and mids were curing I smoked the popcorn. I have found that the Blue dream mids smell amazing but the tops hardly have any smell. I dried on the stalk and jarred at the same time. Why the smell difference?





Overall its not bad. The Blue Dream mids taste and smell the best. Trainwreck is the strongest. OG great smell is gone. I think I could have grew for another week. The buds are very dense though. Overall I am happy but looking to do better in my next grow. There is still room for improvement.

After about 3 weeks of the trim being in an air tight plastic container, I used a frozen ISO wash to make concentrate. This made the best god-damn concentrate I have ever made. It cracks if you try to break a bit off. It is very strong too and I love mixing a little in with the weed in my vape for that extra at last it is Friday kick. The form you see here has not changed. This is golden mind popping greatness. Happy about this outcome.



So now being 2016 it is time for my 2016 grow. I only want to grow once a year so I have decided that this years grow will be now. So I can learn faster from the last grow.



This was taken a few days ago and I am going to put into 12/12 in a few days. I am trying to find the best use of my space of 80x80cm, while keeping plant-count down, variety up, and the ability to grow from seed. So the method I have so far is

full coco in 8 litre smart pots
4 way mainline
4 plants
drip feed

I am using a four-way mainline as I think I can fit 16 main cola in my space cleanly. It should allow for light to get over each cola as it grows. It also allows me to rotate each plant a quarter turn each day without a cola from another plant getting in the way. This helps with even light spread and checking that each branch is even. Sadly I have had a battle with gnats and I hope that is behind me. In this grow I have Blue Dream, 2 x trainwreck and an Amnesia. There was meant to be an OG kush but the seed didn't pop.

I have noticed I have some less smelly tops as well. I attribute it to over fertilization.

That well could be it but the trainwreck and the og kush that were fed the same don't have that effect. It is just the Blue Dream which I thought while growing looked the hungriest plant of the three.

I think it might have to do with drying. I think that the tips dried out faster. I left my vent fan pumping out air for the whole time and it makes a lot of negative pressure in my small tent. I feel that the buds had the moisture being ripped out of them. I say this because the top buds are very hard/dense and feel on the outside very dry. the mid buds are softer and dried in a different way. In the grinder they both grind perfectly. Neither grinds like it is too dry. I do wonder if I should have put my venting fan on a timer so air isn't being removed so quickly. I'm going to try that on this current grow along with leaving the plants grow much longer.

for me it was prior to drying I noticed it. They arent dry yet.

I have mine drying in cold garage, with dehumidifier on humid days.
I feel it was too aggressive, and stopped using it after the rain stopped.
Today its only 54*F in my garage, hopefully no mold or other issues arise.

Usually I dry in my tent, but I have another group in there.

I think if the air flow dried your tops too fast the jars will probably bring it back.

Hey Tictactoe - your harvest looks amazing!
May I ask what size jars you have there? Looks like I will be bringing in a harvest that will require me to get some, but have no idea yet as to volumes

Regarding the different characteristics of plant parts, just a shot in the dark but I did notice on my first grow how the trichome development was at different stages depending on the part of the buds -- the tops were further gone whilst the lower parts still looked like they could use more time. Also initially I had the feeling the different parts smoked differently - nott o the extent that it was still noticeable after curing.

Yup I have a flowermate 5.0s I want to get another but first I need to save some money. Maybe next month.

I use 1 litre jars. And fill them about 3/4 to 1 ounce of dry herb. I get them down to 62% RH and hold them there. My last grow I think my buds over dried in parts. Well that is my theory.

From what I have found the stuff that smells better is not so dense as well. I think it is more of an even dry. I'm going to try less vent fan on my next dry .... if I can (smell). The spotty leaves are the effects of gnats. Little buggers. They are gone now but I had them for the first time. In all the 10 years I've been playing around with growing, the last year was the first time I've had bugs, and I've had three different types, a different one each time. lol Now that I have got my watering up to daily I have ... nute burn. First time really have that too lol doing a real winner start this time.

I love training plants. It helps get more in a space while getting as much light on as I can. Since I want more than one favour of weed (during my one grow) I can't srcog in my small space and mainlining gives great results. If all goes well I should have enough so that I won't need to grow until late 2017. My goal this year has been to get down "my" method of growing so consistent results.

@the dopest Me too. I am hoping to hit my magic 1 gram per watt. I know I should be able to.

Day 2



Currently at day 2 of 12/12. This is the first time I will be using the 730nm far red lights throughout the flowering cycle. Currently I use it for 5 minutes when the lights turn off. My plan (taken from Captainmorgan)

Week 1 & 2 12 hours lights on with 5min 730nm
week 3 - 6 13.5 with 5min
Week 7+ 12 with 5min

I hear that this not only shortens the time of growing but also increases production. Might as well give it a go.

Got a 5.0s and a mini. Powerful vapes and Puffitup has had super prices for a while. Randy is a gem. Also use vapor genies(my first vape and I have seven), an underdog that sees a lot of action, and a couple of mflb's and a vapolution 2.0 that is just a little clumsy for me.

The flowermates are great. Had some minor cracking around bowl but Randy is a gem and replaced top panel, (not a big deal and don't hurt performance). Battery-life even on the mini is all-day strong. Powerful little friends.

I do love my flowermate. Getting into vaping increased my enjoyment of weed. The only downside for me so far is that it keeps me awake so I have to have the "last call" so to speak, 2 hours before I go to bed. I want to get lower dosage to around 0.05 grams. From what I have tried so far, the flowermate works great with 0.1g but not as well with 0.05g. I was thinking of getting an arizer air. Have you tried one of those?

No-------but curious never tried a solo either. All that glass makes me nervous and not stealthy. When using a plug-in, the underdog is incredibly efficient. Got the nylon stems. If you want to stretch your herb, this is your baby.

AS far as plug-ins I am interested in the VapeXhale currently.
I have never dabbed, but it does both concentrates of any kind and bud well from watching online reviews
