Yeah, why is that so hard to believe? When I was growing the sativa strain in that room I could flower when clones were 6" tall and they would finish somewhere near 1 & 1/2 ft tall.

600 watt hps, vertical room
fox farm nutrient line
Vietnamese landrace strain
coco and compost mixture
most sog setups dont have a higher average yield because of airflow restrictions. Exchange all the air in your space @ least 3 times every 5 minutes or you arent going to hit near an ounce per plant without vegging for a long ass time.

I was gonna say, DRY. had to refocus for a second....
And Kochab, the reason I go bonkers when I see Al B is because he has 46 plants under 1 1000 watt HPS each yeilding 1-1.5 oz.
If you do the math thats 1288 grams - 1932 grams per 1000 watts or
1.288 gram to watt or 1.932 gram per watt
Now he'll tell you its hard to quantify a gram to watt ratio in a perpetual harvest, but to me the answer is plain as day..
I usually pull 7-17 grams a plant, but have twice the plants he does...
Get where I'm going..
Al B is in the 2 grams a watt club, whilst I cant even make 1 gram a watt.

Lets say that I have a normal everyday fan pointing through a hole in the closet door..does this qualify as air exchange?If so,Ill just leave the fan running nonstop,better yet Ill have a fan pointing IN to the closet,and occasionally rotate the fan cycles..sounds good?But lets be real here...Im a complete noob whos never flowered a cannabis plant,and Im using a 150W HPS,coco coir and soil meduim,and a indica strain....how many DRY grams should I yield with one plant?Maybe 1-5 grams in a SOG???
Im using Big Bud additive,Hesi Super Vit vitamin formula,and Overdrive....along with a decent fertilizer set like maybe Sensi Grow+Bloom...or some other good nutrient scheme!!

Hey Outlaw...
First you fan should be blowing air out the closet always, your intake will be passive and will be all the little holes where the closet doesnt seal.
And two heres my estimate on your yeild...
9 plants with your 150watt HPS (GRRR)
you should be able to grow them and get between 10-14 grams a plant...

Some strains like AK47 are big producers. Blueberry on the other hand only produces half as much per plant under the exact same conditions. This tends to make me believe genetics play a major factor in grams per watt.
But check this out...I can leave my Blueberry in my veg system for six weeks instead of the normal three and they will produce 3x as much bud when I do take them to flower. Same system, same lights, three times the bud from the same plant site. So it seems like veg time is also a major factor in grams per watt.

So thats what passive intake means!!!I finally know.anyways do you mean 10-14 grams DRY per plant??That seems like alot...just so were on the same page heres my future SOG will look like:

Yes I mean Dry because a SOG meaning little plants with no veg, a plant will produce a min of bud, if you veg for a month its easy to see 2.5 ozs a plant, easy.. but they get so dam big your 150 would barely light 1 plant.
Thats the point of sog.

Although the only roadblock I see your gonna hit is gettin all 10 plants well lit with a 150 watt.
I wish you would have got at least a 250 watt, or the 400 like I suggested...

Depending on the strength of the fan. You need more air coming out than you can have coming in, Thats what creates the passive air inflow. It kind of makes all the air in your room to act like a vacume.
whats your airflow like in that room? If there is a passive airflow then you may be keeping plants too closely further limiting airflow between the plants.
Do you lolipop them? (that helps airflow that much more)
With a vertical room using your 3000watts of light then your yield could be considerably larger (as it would allow you to keep plants on a little bit of the same floorspace as well as many on the walls, sitting on shelves)
I told him If he is using a small closet he could vent it with a fan so he could use a bigger light and get better light penetration
I suggested the 400 also as that is the smallest size lamp Ive ever used to grow effectively.

Ok..so should I veg the clones or not?Not even like a week?Just throw into 12/12 as soon as they root?? Wont the plants be TINY?I mean how much will they grow within 1 week or 2 of 12/12 stretching??

Seeing how you dont have a big light and or a big space then I wouldent veg them more than 2 weeks MAX.
Of course this is assuming that you are going to be growing from clone and not seed. Seed plants all end up different hiegths and thats an utter mess when doing sog.
