growing 1 or 2 plants in an appartment

I am a newbe to growing so I would like to know other peoples perspective on this.
Is it possible to just put the plants near a window (no one can see it) and just grow it this way? Will it smell to much, I wouldn't want the upstairs neighbours smell something. I was hoping to grow without any 'special' equipment (like lamps, grow tents, etc.).
Thanks in advance.

Ya don't expect your plants to thrive they will get stretchy tall and probably only put out popcorn buds now if you went and got some cfl lights and put them around it you might yeild something

this would be pointless. you'd probably yield an eighth of low quality shake. your whole apartment would smell like a pound. i'd suggest building a little enclosure out of wood, getting some fans, mylar, and cfl lights. seal it up real good and make a little diy carbon filter for the smell.

You could do a micro grow. You'd only need 60w (actual power draw) of cfl. And something the size of a filing cabinet. About 50cm tall and 20-30cm wide. Make the insides either flat white. Or cover with aluminum.

For the lights. Get two warm whites and a cool white to balance it out. Maybe add in a 12v 120mm pc fan as intake. And another as exhaust.

Depends on why you want to grow. If it's jus for fun, the go ahead and put her in the window. Odor may very well be an issue.

But with very little extra effort you could get better results. The previous commenter has a good plan for you, or you could go even more simple and get you 2x 23 watt cfls( about 8$ each.)and 2x reflector/cords, the ones with the clamps for mounting. (about 10$ each)both available from lowes or homedepot. Add a small oscillating fan and you're set! Flowering nutes always a plus.

Dude. You are so silly.

Firstly, I started my first grow this way. Three seedlings spent a week or two growing on a windowsill.

Continuing on: Forget the smell. If you have a plant that grows leaves with 7-9 fingers on your windowsill, people are going to see it, because it has to be exposed to the Sun. You aren't going to grow anything "near a window" where it doesn't get optimal sunlight.

You live in an apartment. Grow in a closet with COBs or at least an LED panel. I'm seriously shocked you considered the smell, but not the sight of a cannabis plant in your window for all to see, which is how it would have to be. Do you even realize how big these things get?

Also, it's winter time. It won't veg at all and with only a few hours of wintertime sunlight a day, you won't yield anything.

Get a light and use your closet. The smell shouldn't be a problem. In my experience, it smells more like plant than properly cured bud until you.. well.. dry and cure it. If you smoke in your apartment and don't grow more than 1-2 plants, you should have no issue smell-wise.

If you want to do 1 or 2 plants then do what I do, I have the best stealth set up in my clothes cupboard in my bedroom. I get absolutely no smells what so ever. I vent up with the ducting into my loft and out from a vented roof tile. I also have my 4" tt fan in my loft pulling out the hot air which is brilliant because where the fan is in the loft I get negative pressure in my tent where the sides of tent suck in a little which = no smells.

my landlord comes round every 3 months to do a house check and she pops into my bedroom for a couple of seconds then walks out lol. I have been growing like this for nearly 7 years now. The set up I have is a dr 60 tent with a 250w hps and I normally grow 2 plants at a time in there in 12ltr pots, with topping and some good training I pull around 4-5 onces which does me for 12 weeks till the next one is ready. I bought the set up on ebay for £230 nearly 7 years ago
