No indoor under 4 -1000 (on 24/7) all supplies and electric water costs......outdoor is almost free
I been makin extra income from weed for 20 + yrs :) probabaly saved over $150,000 not having to buy it
excellent post correction.

my buddys dad grows OD and says he drops 25k a season on "stuff". i believed him after i saw how it turned out. a little far from free. also to have all your ducks riding on one batch. not to mention, good luck getting rid of it.

i seen ps floatin through at 1300. that means you would need close to a hundo to be sittin pretty all season. good luck with that you dont ever see a hundo ps coming through my indoor. and paying someone 12-15 bucks an hour to trim something thats 1300 a p? were getting further and further from "free"

uhh it takes 9 weeks to produce num nuts. and you gota pay to trim it. i bet it cost me well over a g per p to make it. and it definitely costs me more than 900 a p to make it? i count my rent in my bills but my overhead is close to 3500 a month. dddamn near 3 month batches.. lets say my bills are 9 grand.. and i end up with 6ps.. more than 900 a p fosho to produce
Why are yoyu paying to trim your shit. Just invest in a bud trimmer. WTF???My plants go 8 weeks in flower. Your overhead is insane. It maybe cost me 200 per cycle at most that paying the electric and all. LOL. Even I agree with Scooby on this one. Either your numbers are off or you need to rethink your system. 900 is way to much. Not hating on you man, just food for thought.

lol 200 for everything... and a bud trimmer? anyone that uses an auto trimmer in california is growing outdoor, mids, or in a factory where they have 30+ lights and are down to get raped. my buds are primo, i would rather cut off my own leg than watch them go through a spin pro. 200 for everything.. my electric bill is 900 dollars a month. have fun growing your cfls, talk some shit to someone else

The bud trimmer is a one time expense not a circulating expense LOL. And by the way there are tons of ways to save money. Like trim yourself. OH MY GOD!! DID YOU GUYS HEAR THAT. I MENTIONED DOING WORK. God forbid. I was under the impression that you had a decent size grow but obviously from your words I was wrong to assume that. If its not big enough fro a trimmer, do it yourself. Still shouldn't be 900 per pound though man. And by the way I run 16 t-5's, a 600w HPS and a 1000w hps all the time (just in my basement). something is alwasy running.

And for the record Saying your bud is primo means nothing to me. Everyone thinks they have the dankest shit on earth. But to each their own, just trying to help you out man. Again I wasn't hating on you or anything but you have a serious attitude problem. most do anymore on this site. too bad.

you ever trimmed 7 lbs yourself through the night time? this would take me 2 weeks. resulting in more down time.. resulting in COSTING ME MORE than hiring people.

thats why i would suggest a one time buy of a trimmer. save you money and time. your product will still taste and smoke great. the industrial size one will leave some leaf. just takes skill learned over time bro. if your taking 7 pounds at a time it would be worth you time and money. How much do you pay your help? just curious.

i cant afford the trimmer. at least the good one. and they muff up your buds. In california, bag appeal is everything. most of the time when i lose packs people dont even want to try it. they go by the look and smell. i have seen multiple bud trimmers be used, i would much rather pay someone to manicure them. i pay 12-15 an hour.

Also note it takes them about 3 hours to do one plant. I have been growing trees lately.

Well, I would say 15 an hour is pretty standard in cali...Bud run through trimming machines still needs touch up work like crazy. Never seen a mechanized trimmer come even close to a properly hand manicured bud.

Where did all the hate come from in this thread? As soon as I left people started problems? This could have been a valuable resource for people who are thinking about growing for a living, but need a reality check.

It will be hard to make a living off of growing unless you can run at least 2000 watts in bloom and have a crop vegging to go into bloom as soon as the room is empty. Initial startup is the killer. Once you've established a garden you need to distribute your goods. Most states are blocking the sale to dispensaries. One thing to consider is that there are guys out there who already have the pot smokers in your area supplied with herb they trust. Until you get your grow up to the quality of the old schoolers you wont have a market. I watched Colorado evolve and unless you're already kicking ass you will always be behind the game.

You would need to be able to move weight to be able to live off growing.
Do you have that sort of connection, that will move your stuff for you?
And i which case, you would have to sell it whole sale.

But if you didnt, and were gram-ing it out. then you would probably get caught quick because of the foot traffic.

of course, this is not what you asked, and is common sense.
But you should still mull over your business model.

But i would second the fact that you need a "real" job, for many reasons.
its always good to have some money that is on the grid, and traceable. Its even good for your neighbors to see you leave to go to work.
its good for your friends to know that you have a job.

People get jealous REAL QUICK. and if anyone finds out that your living off selling weed. they will quickly turn on you.
Man, that last line is sooo true.

zero pretty much laid the cards for you...you might not also want to spend more than you have...thats how most smart people get caught...neighbers see everything...seriously,dont bother with grams, its hard very hard to keep track of many customers..a couple of wholesalers wont..stick in the same pages of the book and the story will end well.

i trimmed that much last autumn on the outdoor harvest. took me 25 days, not a single day off, working 8-14 hours a day. indoor stuff went to shit, i was just too exhausted to keep up with watering, pruning, and other basic stuff.
