Hi Growers,

ive got a couple at around 2 weeks and they are currently in 5litre pots, are these big enough to finish up in or would it be beneficial to transplant them into the 30litre ones i got??? cheers chaps. any advice would be much appreciated :joint:

Useing a pot that is much larger than your rootball alows the medium to retain more water but at the price of exluding more oxygen.
Stepping and matching your pot size as your plants grow will be more beneficial than plonking them in a big pot from the start.

Beware of the 30l pot, I grew some 8 foot trees in those before...

here is one that was topped to make 4 main colas, so it could have been even taller if just left to its own devices.

so bigger the pot, bigger the plant?? so is 30litre a waste of time with autos, because i read on here they dont have a very large root ball? is 5litre to small? thanks there some monster plants!!

3 gal pots work out perfect for autos.. 1 1/2 zips . Better set up I am sure I could have pulled a little more.. 18 gal pots for everything else ;-) someday I will be up to 25 gal, but need more head hight or scrog.

Thanks for your help chaps so the 5litre ones it will stay :) they seem pretty happy anyway! just introduced the 400w hps :) and seems to be a good environment for them. hoping to pull at least 1 z of each.??
