growing getting too involved with my life?

so my little sister talked to me about going to north carolina with the family for like 5 days. i like hanging out with the family, but now that i am on my first grow, i dont want to leave my setup alone, and i feel bad that is the reason why i dont want to go.

im afraid of the plants dying since its like 90 degrees in my grow box (cant seem to get it down!) and the top soil gets very dry even after a day.

im also afraid of my room mates walking into my room when im gone and discovering my setup....

i also have to figure out how to transfer my setup from my current apartment, to our new house. the major problem is my damn room mate wants to spray the house for spiders, which im sure cant be good for a plant, and i also cant leave it alone incase the exterminator looks in the grow box.... also, there might be 1 or 2 days where i dont have a place of i can call my own since the old and new lease dont expire/start at the same time, so i may be expected to go back home for a day or two...

so yeah, there is just so many things to worry about right now.

how do you guys deal with leaving for extended periods of time? is there a little tool i can buy that will feed my plants water for a few days at a time? i have to figure out the other problems on my own i guess

That's awesome, I've never seen anything like that! It really sounds like your hands are tied here Pout.. Sorry to hear that. Would your roomate be awkward about growing weed? If not maybe they could help you out..

I feel the same way, so I just don't go anywhere. But I have another reason that I have to stay close enough to get back within 12 hours: I have a diebetic cat and she has to have a shot every 12 hours or she'll slowly and painfully die. And since the lights are on a 12 hour schedule anyway, well, since I have two reasons, somehow neither one seems like a burden. In a way, I'm kinda glad my cat got diabetes! (Don't tell her I said that.)

wick method kept my shit alive for two weeks NO LIE, I would be more concerned with leaving high powered lights on for a length of time, but vegging with a few cfls and wick method worked out great for me

one of the room mates would be more than cool with helping out, but hes in africa right now and i dunno what day he is getting back. plus, im hoping he is going to split the cost with me haha. havent told him about that, but i think hed be ok.

anyway, that little hand blown thing looks like a good solution. i might try that out a week ahead of time to see how good it works.

yeah same here. not too much to do during the summer when school is out, so most my attention goes towards checking on my plants

I think we are all just addicted to growing. This might sound dumb but its like a small adreniline rush for me. Makes me feel responsible.

i know its hard i was in the same deal for 2 days i couldnt get back to my females and its hard. unless you have a fool-proof system it aint easy

Yea, that hand-blown glass thing looks really effective. I'm on my first grow also, and if I didn't have a friend look out for my plants while I was away, they would be history. I'm also addicted to this shit.. I just want to make bigger and bigger harvests you know? Good luck with whatever you choose pout. Don't be afraid of making a wrong decision, just go with what your heart tells ya.
