Growing Medium for a Newbie

Ya man, 4x4x4=64, 5.5x5.5x5.5=166. So that's not so insignificant as it sounds. I just hope they're heavy enough so they don't fall over. May as well have fun with it.
I should have done the math =) I will have a ScrOG screen to support them so most likely will not be too worried about the weight of the plants/pots. Stoked to get this going, if only I knew whether my seedlings are fems or not haha...

So my plants are nice and happy in the new medium but the room my box is in now smells like fresh composted dirt....had them in since Saturday. Is this going to go away after a few more days or is this smell something I will have to contend with as long as the soil is wet...like after every watering....?

I never really notice the soil smell much, but actually haven't used fox farms because I'm cheap. Maybe it's the worm castings in there. Does it smell wormy? But pretty soon you're going to have other smells to contend with ;)

Yes those I will be ready for but the dirt smell is a dead giveaway right now and I have a trip coming up with parents checking on my pets while I am gone

oh crap, I don't know what to tell you. maybe covering the pot with something breathable like burlap while you're away would keep the smell down.

This will be in my locked cabinet and I intend on having it off during the day. I have a work related disguise planned for it. Only passive vents in place which will allow some smell to creep. The plants are barely 4" tall so I am not too worried about smell of buds. It seems like the soil is more pungent when wet but I'm gone for 8 days so I was hoping to give it a good watering before I leave and hope shit doesnt die...they will stop by 3 days after I leave and then again 3 days later. I have Ona Gel but nowhere near the box.
