Growing Querkle, 3D, and Jillybean

Hey everybody, I thought I'd start a new thread for the new cab grow. There are pics of it in the Conquistador thread, but that one was getting huge. I'm too tired to post current pics tonight but I'll do it in the next few days. Right now I have two of each strain, and they're about half the height of the cab so I put them into flower about a week ago. So far one Querkle showed itself to be male, and one Jillybean has shown herself to be female. The female Jillybean is actually the healthiest looking one of all the plants, though the 3Ds (3rd Dimension) are both very lush and bushy, and they could be identical twins. The other Querkle is the weakest-looking of the plants, so I'm not counting on getting any of that strain out of this grow. If I do, it will be a pleasant surprise.

They're being grown in all-organic potting soil, and I'm about to order an organic bloom fertilizer if anyone has any suggestions. I used Rainbow Mix bloom last time but I hate how dusty it is -- it's like a fine powder and it's hard to water into the soil.

I wish I knew some other growers in NYC so I could hand off a couple of females if I have more than two. Unfortunately, I don't know anyone, so I'm probably going to build another little grow box of some sort.

Hi Llittlebat,long time no hear.
I've bought Jb and 3D as well,1 JB has poked its head out,I was going to put them outside except the temp got to 41c or 106f so they might stay under cfls for a while.

Well, out of six seeds planted, I have FIVE females! I'm not sure what to do because I have such a tiny little cab to grow in. I don't know any other growers to whom to give a couple so I'm going to have to trick out my window in order to grow there. Yeesh!! Go Subcool!

Hey all -- been traveling a bit and working a lot, sorry I haven't been around much lately. At this point I have four plants in the cab. (I gave one of the Querkles to someone.) So right now I have two 3D, one Querkle, and one Jillybean. I've been out of town for a week and my neighbor has been watering them. When I got home tonight and opened up the cab I was OVERWHELMED by the scent of orange! The Jillybean reeks!!! It's like sticking your nose in a jar of Tang! Oh my god I can't wait to smoke it...

The 3Ds are identical twins, basically. Their buds are more developed than the JB or Querkle. If I recall correctly that one matures faster, yes?

All I can say is that Sub's descriptions of his strains are so far right on! My camera is full and my battery is dead but I promise to take pics in the next few days.

Yeah, it's super dusty! It didn't mix in well with my plants, and I didn't see such amazing results I feel compelled to use it again. What really helped my plants more than anything was the worm castings. I will ALWAYS use those!! But next summer I plan to use straight-up bat guano for bloom and see how that works. I've heard great things!

LittleBat..... I'm tuned in for this run. That Jillybean is some excellent tasting stuff, I'm smoking some right now. Grow in all organic soil - I did use High P Bat Guano for flowering. Tastes Great......orange to orange vanilla - with a hint of cherry...sweet !!

Nice pics...keep up the good work......

Just wanted to give an update...I would post pics but because I was high I set my timer so the lights are off during the day and on at night! Ha! So I'll have to take pics in the middle of the night. I'll do it next time I water!

The plants are doing great. Soil was so the way to go! They love the worm castings as usual and they're truckin' right along. I open up the cab and water them every three days and that's all I have to do. They sprouted their first hairs right around Xmas (good present!) and in the past few days they've started to smell. My cab's not scent-proof, and it's right by my bed, so now I fall asleep at night to the smell of my plants. :)

I was interested to see which phenotypes I would get. At first the Jillybean smelled just like Tang, but now it's developed a much skunkier smell -- so the dominant phenotype, described as "orange skunk," is right on. The Querkle is just starting to turn purple, which is cool. The 3Ds look exactly alike and have very distinctive buds. The hairs are long and straight; I call them porcupine buds. In the past couple of days a lot more of their hairs have turned orange. The Querkle is the most resinous, but the 3D has caught up to it in the past week. I'm assuming I probably have another 4-6 weeks before they're done -- I can't imagine how they're going to smell by then! I'm glad I live alone!! :bigjoint:

Hey all! I'd love your responses. I keep checking back here but...no love!! :)

I have a question, actually. I'm wondering if I can take clones off these plants at harvest time. I'm not sure how to do it otherwise, and I want to keep my females going!

LB You can only clone a plant while in veg and have good success,
If you take a clone from a budding plant it will continue to flower and its really hard to get em to root then even if they do you have to regenerate em back into the vegitive state. We take clones from of plants in veg the day BEFORE we flower.

Both strains love food and lots of it,slow starting needed potash, then voom.I left them out last night to start flowering, yeh they're small, now,I have neighbours & too low a height fences. They've been left out in 40c or 104f + heat and didn't wilt.
3D has some of the toughest stems I've come across, after supercropping the fingers new about it.:bigjoint:
Nearly forgot,I'm sure 3D is getting purple hues on leaves and stems.Approx 6 weeks old.
