It is. I agree.

Sometimes the punishment don't fit the crime.

It is also the reason I think jail should be more than throwing someone in a hole and screwing them up. It should be about rehabilitation and making society whole again.

That boy will be a much harder person after that stretch.

I agree. There's a documentary on Netflix that talks about how once some one becomes a felon they basically become slaves to the government, and how prisoners are modern day slaves . It really makes alot of sence if you think about it.

Inmates work for literally pennies a day. Working in factories making 50 cents a day or 2 dollars a day was the most I saw when I was there for the better jobs.

The companies and government pretend to be doing the Inmates a favor by offering work to make money while their doing time, but don't pay them shit. Meanwhile most Inmates don't even realize what's happening.

I can't remember the name of the documentary off the top of my head but as soon as I figure it out I'll post it if your interested

I watched it. I also watched one that showed some of the prisons doing it right. Up to and including getting college degrees.

It makes sense to me to have an educated well rounded person coming out of prison.

Simple misdemeanors will screw up a lot of jobs.

I am of the belief that if you did your time and meet the conditions of rehabilitation then it should not be held against you.

We also saw these ... direct tang competitor. mama generally made Kool-Aid 1/2 strength but she made this stuff full strength; it was like liquid candy and it had this awesome Artificial Orange flavor ... modern Tic Tacs come close.

I was born 10-20 years too late to live in those times. I grew up wearing hand me down 80's crap. Flourescents and jump suits... ugh!

I never really played with electronics as a kid. Never had any to begin with. Not until I was 15 when bought my own (second hand) gameboy. I used to just go out to the park and spend a good 4 hours or so there.

Never learned how to fix anything. But, took interest in cooking and the garden.

I do wish we didn't have such reliance on technology though.

how about when dad or uncle worked at General Electric or Westinghouse and would bring home a bottle of mercury that you could rub on pennies and make them shiny. How much of that shit is still floating around those old houses.
