Im biased man, I own blackstars, I decided to pass on sunshine systems due to its price. 225 for 90 watts is steep. For the same price you get a 6 spectrum, 180W UFO that uses 2W chips instead of 1W, from blackstar, also blackstar claims that it only covers 4SQ feet, which is absolutely true, not 12 like Sunshine, a 90 watt UFO can come close to sustaining 12 sq.ft.

The only companies I recommend are ledgrowlightsdirect.com, kessil, haight solid state, blackstar, and 357 magnum. All are at different price ranges.

I will tell you right now that no 90W LED will replace a 400W HPS, and I own several LEDs. A 90W will probably only replace about 180W of HPS (at the most), you have to do your math like that.
Claims are claims not proof...You should look at a minimum of 180W of LED, probably 240W is even better, for 400W HPS replacement. 180W LED will still contend with a 250W HPS.
In vegg that is, for blooming its more accurate to say it will only keep up with a 90 watts of HPS. but in vegg a UFO can keep up with a 400 watt MH.

I would recommended to buy from china ( ebay ) but know your specs and red and blue ratio and how much watts, I notice alot of website who claims to support the american economy and blah blah blah are ripping americans off even more by selling LED that outputs the lowest watts that grow better than other LEDS and claims thier competitors support china they are charging 1000's for stupid fixtures with LEDs in that barely amount to any watts, I am no way supporting any LED company but I want a bang for my buck and the cost of per watts most LED's that are said to be made in USA was actually made in china and shipped to USA. Before buying the LED read up what it say, and get the one with more reds than blues. I got my 600 watter for 650$ shipped and it works good

LEDs work but they dont have a very wide footprint. I have seen some good bud grown with LEDs, i've grown good stuff with LEDs but dont believe the advertisers who say "Equal to 400W HID" cause that simply not true. It's about a 2x2 coverage area with a 90WUFO.

lol link to these GOOD leds if you could.. the technology is possible and the science makes sence behind it but way too expensive till building materials and techniques get better. Id like to see top of the line LEDS at this point.. awhile back i researched a few . one of which was water cooled 5W LEDS but anyhow i need to see to believe after the lightbrights ive seen ..

I would recommend you definitely not buy cheap chinese lights from ebay, as they tend to blow their power supplys within the first year. Definitely buy from someone who will back the product and fix it when something goes wrong. I myself use Kessil's and will be trying Blackstars.

Most leds chinese or not dies after a year do to lack of fans, i have like 6 on mine been using it for 2 years and still works, even if you had ones that the company will fix however... With the fix it price you can buy another chinese LED.

I'll chime in and recommend everyone here hop over to 420magazine real quick and look up Irishboys growledhydro.com Spectra LED light grows (their website is out of date but Mike who runs the business is a stand up guy who doesn't BS about his products and actually does the growing research himself to find out what actually works).

These are the LED's that I use and have a good turn out with - Blackstar:
http://shop.ebay.com/?_from=R40&_trksid=p5197.m570.l1313&_nkw=blackstar+led&_sacat=See-All-Categories

Call these guys and talk to them, They are the only suppliers I have seen that offer quality, customer service, and less than outrageous prices. I have 750W of these guys that I mix with 1000W HPS. Great stuff. Tremendous yields.

Other good names are kessil, ISIS, 357 magnum, bulldog...however they are all extremely expensive in comparison (although the kessils are coming down a bit). I haven't dealt with spectra but if jdizzle22 is right then give them a look see as well.

I haven't been able to find any completed grows using the growledhydro Spectra lights over here, but there are a bunch of great ones over at 420magazine with Irishboy and others. I'm definitely buying one or two 240w 2011 models from GLH by the end of the month. They seem to have just the right amount of light for the coverage area. Irishboy and most of us over there seem to agree that more smaller lights are best*(basically only buy units with more than 240w if you can't fit more than 1 led light in the grow space).

Here are some links (hopefully this is ok to do?)

http://www.420magazine.com/forums/completed-journals/124858-setting-suns-growledhydro-300w-led-vs-400w-hid-demonstration.html

http://www.420magazine.com/forums/journals-progress/132192-irish-boys-480w-720w-grow-led-hydro-land-clovers.html

There are other spectra grows on their site and all of them are using the older models (2011 improved versions just came out) If you want to see the new units and what is changed here is a link to the right page. One cool thing about his lights that I haven't heard of any others (not sure if any others do) is the fail safe hes built into the units so if one light fails you don't lose a whole row/column. http://www.420magazine.com/forums/journals-progress/132192-irish-boys-480w-720w-grow-led-hydro-land-clovers-49.html

If its more red than blue and 1-2 watts each bulb and you save big money i say do it, it may not perform as well as your HGL or Prosource but it can grow just as good. I seen some youtube video of hgl lights massacre on the HSS light and showed the HSS lights performing worse than CFL i later seem a grow journal of some dude using hss light and got .8-.9 grams per watt.. What does that tell you?? Know your light every bit of detail and if it and as long as you have more reds than blue and 1-2 watts per LED you can grow some nice plants and bud nice plants regardless on if its chinese or not, only diff i see is price tag and greed.
