I see You are useing the RubberMaid tub. They let alot of light in there.. I have the same tub and had nothing but PH issues useing this tub.. Too much light get in there ,,.. I had to cover it in foil. YEa Ok I know this is not good but i WANT TO SAVE THEM ...

I covered the tote with foil had a PH 0f 5.8 LAST NIIGHT . This morning it was back to 7.0. I have no idea what is going on .. I soaked the Hydro. In 5.0 PH water for 24 hours before i put in cups. PH still climbes way too fast . Plants look like they stopped growing.

Have 2 tap roots 2 seperate cup`s ..showing at the bottom of the cup`s. But PH still climbes to 7 I am lost . Do not know why it goes so high after a few hours .. I need some help.. should i just let it go ??,,,....Thought is was the light ... Not a happy camper here LOL... Don`t know why PH is going crazy ???

....LOL good luck:joint::joint::joint::joint:

I had the same issues with my ph when I started this grow, I have really crappy city water out of the tap at 550+ppm. I took the plunge and purchased a StealthRO 100 system and since then my ph problems have been a thing nof the past. My water comes off the RO system at 6.2ph 30ppm compared to 7.5+ph 550+ppm straight off the tap. Great investment for anyone growing.

anyway, just some pics of whats going on here, we're on week 2 Day 8, and i've got some yellowing of some leaves already, I'm guessing the babies are hungry, but they haven't gotten thier first 4 true leaves yet so they're just getting ph'ed water. ph is at 6.1, air temp is 72F humidity is 40%

Rockwool looks kind of extra wet. Where do you have the feeder tubes on the rock wool cube. What is the flow rate coming out of the feeder tube. Should be a trickle and placed midway down the side of the RW cube.

Good idea. Got to make the roots work for the water a little and it's no fun drinking from the fire hose! Give me a headache every time! LOL!.

so should the feeder tubes be placed lower towards the bottom?, or in the middle? i've got them in the middle now, u don't think that the yellowing is coming from them being hungry?

I doubt the yellowing is from them being hungry. I know it's tempting to add something and see but that is a mistake at this point. Work on the water flow and keep the feeder tube in the middle of the RW cube for now. I've seen water flow yellow up a plant here and there becase it kind of washes out the built in nutes. I like to address one thing at a time to see what actually fixes the problem. You do two thing ( big temptation) and you don;t know what to do the next time it happens. If the flow fix doesn't work the next step is to give them the tiniest amount of nute ( like 1/10th - aka - a pinch for the whole res.) You'll find that if you do things slowly it works out better. Things rarely happen quickly in nature and we try to mimic it in our grow rooms to a point.

Hey Grownavy good luck with your grow! I had my valves turned up too much at first too and it caused some wilting and slight yellowing. It cleared u in a day or so after turning the flow to a trickle.

Also, I started a new Stealth Hydro thread, because they closed all of Roseman's threads! I used the exact same name and it can be found here:

Keep the thinktank alive for Roseman!!

Why did they close down all of his threads? What happend to Roseman?
WTF?

I agree you don't want the rockwool soggy, I made that mistake for the first few days. Like MC said you want the roots to work for the water.

Good luck!

yarddog thanks for stopping by, you were all right about the rockwool being to soggy, after i closed the valves off a bit yesterday, the green is starting to come back in the leaves, so that might've definately contributed to the yellowing. thanks for the heads up killer, that heat can be a bitch to control, and i'm only using 2 85W, and 1 42w right now, i haven't even fired up the 430w hps yet, but i think i should be ok with that 6''vortex pulling, i've seen my temps dwindle all the way back down to 65!! i'm glad i have the speed control, so far this whole setup is the truth! thanks guys!
