Growth & Yield

Yes, the ceiling is currently 12 foot. I can raise it too 14 foot.
I think 6 feet or so is the safest bet in veg. Due to the fact you also prob have lights and ventilation taking up some space above your plant but I can say when I can't see your set up. And that will be a monster but I'm not sure you can have GREAT results with the 2 lights you are useing. My fluence was 1500 and I do t think it would do all that well over 6ft plants but I may be wrong and I have never done bigger than 5.5 to 6ft inside. Like Simone above said outdoor is the best bet.

I think you have the space for ten foot and roots but not the light or penetration. The stem and trunk will always be too thin unless you provide more light.

If you want to learn just keep practicing grow after grow to get dialled in rather than experimenting witth different techniques.

Good advice here I agree 100% monsters are sweet but it will take more knowledge and know how to tame that beast. And again no way your lights will pull that off. You will have a tall lanky plant and you will get a better yeild keeping them shortish with your lights.. but of couse do as you wish I do think it would be interesting for sure bit you will want MUCH more light than 4-450 watts and possibly some supplement lights on the sides....

Hemp likes to grow ten foot tall on a thin single stem, if you must id trim the plant to resemble a thin tall hemp plant and provide support if it buds :-)

Thank you for all your answers, and advice. I do agree I need to get a few more grows under my belt first. I also ask the stupid noob questions now so I don't ask too many later. Most of the replies on this thread have been helpful. When I do attempt to grow a plant this big, I will defiantly have a much more appropriate light set up. For now I will stick to learning the basics, and learning how to increase yield on 3-5 foot plants. I have a hydro setup, that honestly scares me (Current Culture UC-4). I don't think I know enough about the plant yet to even use that. I can grow veggies great. This is a new prospect. I was told that Cannabis is a lot like tomatoes. Well I am finding this to be far from the truth. Cannabis grows like Cannabis. So I am re-learning everything. First thing I have noticed is Cannabis is much better at nutrient consumption vs growth efficiency. They are also not as finicky(Less requirements/maintenance/care). They basically just want to grow. Tomatoes want to make a mess of themselves and everything around em(Vine like behavior). Anywho I am rambling and yeah. Thank you again for the advice to those who gave it.

Your on the right track, keep repeating grow after grow till you have it 'dialled in', ten footers will keep for another year.

Dont say we dont look after you here :-)

If your growing for height and you still want yield then id suggest going vertical.

The trouble with tall plants indoors in a traditional grow is that the light really only plays its part on the top foot of canopy. Going vertical will allow the height you want and still achieve a yield.

There is a vertical section in the forums, perhaps check it out.
I get nice Bud right down to a foot or so of the bottom, the key is not doing too many plants when growing Big plants ,I do two in my room .You just have to make sure that you are getting good light right down to the bottom and right round the plant ,I tie side branches down early in veg, this lets them get more light ,then round about week 4 of flower i un tie them.

There are so many answers to this question its a hard one you could do a scrog ,sog cage grow its up to you ,just get on with it dude, you will learn more from your first grow ,whats will be best ,The height you have is pretty much what i have 7 ft ,but i braced the rafters and that is where my filter now sits,On that brace.

Try a few plants ,Flower them at 12 inch ,and put a table over them ,this is by far the easiest way to hit good weights, with out the worry of height issues. You want a bit of space around each plant so light can get down to the lower nugs early on in flower.Just go for it dude

The reason i said go with a scrog is you don't have to worry about the lower stuff ,its all taken away any how,You want to get a nice weight from your start or its off putting ,I know a Grower that does one plant in just over 1 1/2 mtr x 1 1/2 mtr squared 7 ft height and he all ways hits a lb from that ,He uses HPS Light though ,same has i do in flower, all though i still get not too bad weight from LED ;Light,I have just got a better LED,and it seems to doing really well ,if i can get a nice weight from that then i will be doing a way with hps lighting.

Too many factors involved for me to say how much you will get ,but if you know your stuff then it should be a tidy weight ,with the size room you have.Lets face it Has long has that grow weight wise last you till your next grow Jobs a good en ,Stop's the Little dicks from selling 0.8 gram for 10 quid to smokers ,

Those are not strains that get all that tall, more bushy. They will maybe get 1.5 to 2x taller during flower. So flip them when they are maybe 3-4 feet, and topped before that.
