Guano availability

Was wondering if anyone knew roughly, in an outdoor environment, the timeline for hi-phos guano breakdown and nutrient availability? Also at what point in the breakdown stage is the phosphorous most available? Just trying to pinpoint when the best time to topdress outdoor plants would be in accordance with flowering. Thanks for any and all help!

Dude I get the primal harvest (0-12-2 )100 micron screen guano(made for hydro applications) it seems most available the second time I water unless I feed it to some kelp molasses tea for 48 hrs then it hits right away . When I top dress I mix it up with worm castings at a rate of two cups per pound then apply then water

Guanos tend to release nutrients over the course of a month (45 days maximum). Depending on the type of guano a significant portion may be available immediately. If you look on the product labeling where it lists the NPK content you should see a breakdown. For example the nitrogen content is always broken down as "Water soluble nitrogen" followed by "Insoluble nitrogen". For the others you'll typically just see the contents for "Available phosphate" and then "Soluble potash". If it's listed as soluble that pretty much means immediately available to the plant.

For example, some high N stuff like the Mexican bat guano may contain 10% or more nitrogen although only a small portion of it is available immediately (1% is water soluble). Peruvian seabird (10-10-2) has the about the same N content but with much more water soluble N.

my Phosphorus Guano has 0-5-0, all soluble.
i mix equal parts Guano and Molasses in rainwater for a good organic dose of PK.
good info Nullis, "you must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Nullis again."
