guide to cheap setup

This has worked quite well for me so far, so i thought i'd post up the info and some prices for anyone interested in starting out.

First things first: Light:

i scored 2 100Watt CFL light's (grow light and a budding light) and a shade from ebay (bloke in Melbourne - Aussieponics) for $100 - $131 delivered, now both these lighta are supposed to give out the equilivant of a 400Watter! cool so far so good, plants are growing and im already saving money...no need for a ballast or cooling of light.

reflective surface: For this i bought 2 of those car windscreen sun refelector thingies and thumb tacked them to the wall. refelectors were $4 each plus $1.50 for thumb tacs

Wind: for this i bought a cheap ass $12 desk fan from Big-W.

Water Pump: Got one of these from Bunnings for $24

large bucket (water res ) + smaller bucket (clay balls) for hydro: large bucket for water was $15 and so was the smaller one...so $30

Clay Balls: $9.90 roughly 5L bucket size

Cloning Gear: ok i got this from a hydro shop, so you might get it cheaper on ebay....cloning tent thingy was $30 which came with clear top with open/close air vents, drip tray and other tray for perlite to be put on.
cloning mix was $10

Haven't bought any nutes yet, as im still trying to finish off these dirt started ones i got going.
Probably over kill but that what i got so far for my first time hydroponics setup, the beauty about this setup is, it's cheap easy and doesn't cost anywhere near as much as a HPS setup but you still get some good results.

If you are saying that 2 100W CFL's are equivilent to a 400W MH or HPS bulb, that would be misinformation. Sounds like that is what you are talking about since you mentioned ballast/cooling in the same breath.

If you are saying equivilent to 400W of incandescent lighting, disregard this post.
