Hey gum
Hope you don't mind my 2 cents on lime.
It's used to raise ph levels and it's also calcium so it can be used as a plant food supplement.
I'd only pre treat soil if it had a very low original ph reading. It's possible that the addition of lime has raised your soil ph above neutral which could cause some nute lockouts.
Certainly calcium is required by the plant but it should really be in balance with all the other nutes and definitely at lower mean levels than the NPK of the medium or it could cause a toxicity.
Personally I tend to add a pinch of lime and 2 pinches of epsom salts to 1 litre of warm water and use it as a feed if a plant looks like it has a deficiency. The heavy feeders seem to need it more.
It might be worth just checking your soil ph to see where you are at, that would tell you what ph water would be most effective for flushing if it's needed. They do really cheap soil test kits at any garden centre.

That's why my mix has .25 C dolomite lime, and my sample came back 6.9 for pH. Neutral is the goal, right? The test I have done is $15.

Thanks for the info guys. I will check some local garden shops and ask about soil tests. I know NCSU does them, I think for free, but something local would be nice. Plus they may help explain the results. I know the results you just posted daniels were a little misunderstanding.

Hey GB, just stumbled on to this one. Should get interesting with that bulb.

Subbed,
thanks bigman, glad to have you!!

i wished it for a bigger cab, but the big cab dreams blew out with the oil spill...

i am biding my time. NC, where i live, is working on a medical marijuana act. i am hoping it passes, and with my wifes migraines, and my arthritis, maybe one day we can become legal patients. but I may start up a 2nd PC in a few months. i want room for 2 moms and clones, and I can do than in another PC.

lookin good so far dude. is the bulb cool tubed?

Hey CT, yeah the light is cool tubed. it is a coleman lantern globe, ducted into 2 2" 90 degree pvc pipes via a 2.5"electrical conduit (where the socket sits). works pretty good.

Not going to well. Growth seems stunted. Been meaning to post some pic's and ask for help. One was real light green, and the other is doing the same but the leaves are drooping bad. I transplanted to different soil thinking the lime I added messed them up, but no improvement. I am at a loss...

thanks for the kind words folks! what do yall think? i watered the little one with some N because of the bright yellow leaves. the bigger one has been getting straight water. and i havent been over watering even though it looks like it. it should be dried up tonight (hope not too dry) and it will get more water!

Not something I've seen before gum.
Looks like it might not be taking food up through the roots as it has taken all the goodness out of those bottom leaves.
I think I'd continue flushing to try & resolve any root issues and I'd start foliar feeding until things looked better, but that's just a stab in the dark tbh mate.
I'll keep those fingers crossed.

Thanks v12, I will give that a try. Its odd how ones leaves are drooping and the others are perky. They were even like that before the transplant when they were in the same soil! Since the transplant they are in different soils. I am not sure what I wanna do with the new bean I just germed. Maybe 50/50 perlite/vermiculite. But I'm not sure???

Hey nice looking plants man cant wait to see them fill out. Im starting a pc grow myself not really sure on what seeds to get yet ive been trying to read up on what would be best to grown in a pc case but i havent found anything yet can anyone help me out?
