I hope that was sarcasm... if not, you sir, are an idiot. :wall:

I'm glad the officer was arrested and finally brought before a judge, he did do wrong, even though it was most likely a mistake... he must be punished.

now, suddenly, it's "most likely"? hella funny. :mrgreen:bongsmilie

Well it took long enough. He was probably riding jet skis on lake tahoe . . . fucker.
they just keep saying he was "arrested". the DA is supposed to give a statement soon. i want to know if he turned himself in once charges were filed or if they actually had to go to him. they said he was "being moved" for safety reasons for the past week. who exactly was moving/harboring him?

i saw his mugshot. :-|

extradition hearing took 5 mins.

DA speaking now.

extradition is taking place today. he will be in oakland tonight.

DA knew last week he was going to file murder charges. he jsut wanted to wrap it all up.

the charge is just "murder" at this point. as it proceeds a judge will determine the final charges. the DA and the defendant appear before the judge to determine actual charges.

the DA feels it was "an unlawful killing done by intentional act". this is considered "murder".

more to come ....................................

all is calm at the moment. a group remains downtown and they are trying to start problems. throwing bottles and stuff. everything has been peaceful ALL DAY. they should stop now and just go home. call it a victory.

Never said it wasn't a mistake, just said it's extremely doubtful for it to not be a mistake. :hump:

All is peaceful huh? Riiiiiight... bunch of animals I'd say.
"Bomb squad officers evacuated the neighborhood while trying to determine the contents of the packages. When authorities could not determine what was inside, they destroyed them."

could have been cookies from the neighbors. they blew it up so we will never know. nice way to throw accusations though.

1500+ people assembled and marched in Oakland for 6 hours yesterday. not one conflict with the police. hours after it was over "some local hoodlums" ran around and broke a few windows. totally unrelated to the march. just an excuse for some urban vandalism. all the news could talk about today were the few broken windows. lame.

My guess is these charges will most certainly stick. With such a high profile situation there must be a sacrificial lamb. The most likely turn out will be this guy does time and the broken system that created this incident in the first place will remain unchanged. It's nice to see some kind of justice for the family of the victim, but the victory only runs so deep...

There is a lesson for Barney Fife. Make sure you know how to use your weapon...and Transit cops should not have lethal weapons.

+1, but they're charging him for murder and unless they can prove he purposely intended to shoot and kill the suspect or had premeditated the situation, he will not go down for murder. I hope they realize this and drop the charges to more suitable charges or double-jeopardy might ensure this officer gets off free, which I do not agree with. The DA is a fool for charging him with murder unless there is MUCH more we don't see and know, such as him having prior run ins with the deceased, as the deceased wasn't an angel at all... had quite a record.
