Good for him. I hate banks, this guy tried to pay them back in good faith by selling the property for 160k and they rejected it. What greedy assholes. Now they own valueless land. An empty lot is a dime a dozen in the home building world.

The bank was greedy, he only owed them 160,000. When the bank was offered 170,000 they said no, we can make more money selling it.

banks......

From what I understood he was making the payments. The IRS put a lean on his shit and the bank saw an opportunity to foreclose and took said opportunity. The guy even offered to pay them MORE than what he owed. Any reasonable judge will uphold this mans rights in a court of law. This is similar to the guy that didn't pay his taxes for a few years because he didn't feel like it. The IRS audited him and took him to court. They came up with some exuberant amount for what he owed, like a few million or something after all the fees. The guy had the money to pay them but he went and got ALL of it in pennies and the IRS refused to take all the pennies. The court ruled that the pennies had to be counted by a third party. After the count all of the money was there and the court ruled that he didn't have to pay shit because they had already refused payment in full with legal U.S. currency.

Took out millions in pennies? thought you could'nt do that. With copper prices so high the pennies would be worth more melted.

You can. A withdrawal of that size takes time anyways. This guy was also LOADED so he probably didn't bank with a normal bank but one of those that caters to the wealthy.

He decided to give it back to the bank as he purchased it "the land".
I do not think that any legal charges will follow, due to the fact that the contract specified he would use his property as collateral..
This is a very smart man that has been dealing with the IRS trying to "fuck him out of his house and business that he paid to build located on the properties" for the past 10 years.
He said he will do the same to his business, because he bought the properties from the bank and built his own home and business on the properties.
The bank did not finance the home or business to be built.
He paid out of his own pocket.

If he paid out of his own pocket why does he owe 150K on the property then?
He mortgaged it, it belongs to the bank, the whole property, and whatever was
on it. He will in all likelihood be brought to court.

This story is great!!!!
I click the link provided by the op and there is a poll question, anybody see the results???
That should tell ya how much the american people are sick of all the BS
