Had light to close to plant!

My Plant just went crazy and grew very tall. I didn't have a chance to move the light up. the top leaves got slightly burned and the bud seems to be very dryed and burnt. should I just leave it be or should I do some sort of trimming?

That happened to me aswell, how bad is it? I just let it be and continued without doing anything, had no problems.

supercrop it! or at least bend it... burnt buds don't recover.

or just top it. simple for height restriction.

but wouldn't topping it just slow her growth down? This would still mean that she'll reach the lights again. or not...?

he could top it lower than usual and the 2 new shoots will take about a month to grow menacingly toward you light again. i did it right after i sexed cuz of a sativa grew like 3 inches in one day, and i've got 2 colas about 3 inches higher from where i topped. i could cut the very tops of the two right? or would that cause two more growths?

Gee, didn't think about it that way. That's actually pretty smart, since you'd get rid of the auxin producing top, so all your branches would start forming colas.

You could top the two stems with no problem.

thanks for the rep = i think it's my first, yea, after i topped mine i've got two f=FAT colas and it's by far the best producer, with mant offshoots and flowers from where i've had to take them off. i fucked up and they're in clear containers and the roots are fucked tho. wish i still had the top of my plant tho.

you have to top any way to remove that burnt part or your plant will slow the fuck down big time trying to repair itself.

I didn't think burnt leaves repair themselves and I know for a fact that burnt buds don't. Do leaves really recover?

my bottom leaves don't recover, but they were mature enough for the offshoots to develop from the nodes and there are flowers in some spots with no leaves, i see new growth outward all the time because i constantly pinch and top mine. some of mine are bare like over a foot from the bottom man. gay, but more energy goes to the buds.

So DjDanko, I guess you could top or supercrop or bend your plant, whatever suits your needs and space. Let us know what you chose and how it worked out for you.

what kind of light are you using/wattage? and how talls ur shit?

I have a 250watt HPS. the plant is 2 or more feet. I have Plenty of room about another 2 foot or more of chain left I just didnt raise it fast enough. What is the difference between toping,supercrop,bending. which do you usually benefit most from? also which one do you recomend for the amount of room I have?

ive got the 400 HPS. a 250 isn't that strong so youd' probably want it as tall as it is now for the best buds. topping is really good. i took off like 6 inches. the plant grows outward, i.e flowers. if you have enough room you can prbly top a few times and have 2-4 tops.

Do you mean I dont want the plant to grow taller, Just top it and make it grow wider? how exactly do you top? just cut the steam at a certian point?

above a large fan leaf.... but make sure there are enough to let the plant live dude.... cut about an inch above the set of leaves. the plant will expend it's energy to recover and grow 2 new tops in less than a month. but i did it right after veg and the one's i did it on yield so much more. look up the thread topping vs fimming or topping fimming 101 i do believe sir. good detailed illustrations. fimming is something different. to high to explain........

do you think my plant is too old to top? one month into flowering?

i'm not an expert on it, but i don't think they can be too old to top. if i heard otherwise i'd do it anyway cuz of the space i have. your buds will get a fuck load bigger.
