Just 1 oz./gallon....no more... Flush til your ppm meter stops rising. (15 minimum - 30min), then drain it out & refill with the Nute Mix of the WeeK. I am following the FF feeding schedule recommendations then adjusting for ppm. I had to add a bit more to kick it up to 1100 with my 320ppm tap water (1420). Without adding any Ph adjust, the nutes dropped my 8.0 tap water down under 6...yeah!

I use a plastic tube, like a small garden hose to syphon/drain it and I refill it with a flower watering can thru the AG door. (Drain it like you do a fish tank change).

saweet...yeah since i'll be having a for sure nutrient soup in my res with all the different additives i think it would be a must to drain the res every so often. I called tech support today and the guy gave the exact advice that youre giving. He also said that if you flush with clearex for a couple hours you don't have to change out the res after flushing but to just go ahead and add the nutes until you reach your desired ppm. something to think about...i appreciate the advice brotha

Their tech support is most excellent. Thanks for the info about Clearex. I didn't now that.

PROBLEM:
This is quite a learning experience for me. I switched to tap water 2 weeks ago and I panicked when I found out out the Ph is 8.5 and the ppm is 320 (very hard)..I adjusted the ph to 5.5 range & added Fox Farm nutes ppm for a total 1200 ppm (900 nutes +300 water)

I read somewhere to add 1 tsp of Epson Salts (magnesium sulfate) to help absorption...Man, this was so wrong. You cant use that or Oxy Clean or H2O2 (hydrogen peroxide) with organic nutes. It kills the microbes. I thought I had killed two of my plants, both on the left side of my AG.

In about 2 hours, they started to wilt. Soft stalk & stems and leaves pointing down with a bit of a curl (not good) and the lower leaves on some of the others also wilted. I used Clearex again for 30 minutes and then refilled the res with the weekly mix. I am topping off the res with just 5.6 ph adjusted tap water 'til they overcome the shock from the Epson Salts. They are not absorbing any nutes because my ppm still reads 1200. They perked up a bit last night and looked good this morning. I don't know why it didnt effect the other 5 plants.

I don't know what else it could have been? If anybody has any ideas, I'm all ears.

I only vegged them for 25 days so I think that's causing the delay in showing sex but I really don't know for sure.
I put then into flower on Nov 25th so today it the 18th day in flower.
Hopefully, by the time I upload new pix on Sunday, I'll know for sure which is which, then I'll pull males and give the ladies room to dance.

They have perked back up and are doing fine now after the wilting a few days ago when I added Epsom Salt. I think it locked up the nutes cause they werent drinking it. I won't do that again.

Ask vette, less is more, I don't think he ever flushed his AG tank, just kept adding new water and nutes....
Good going so far with all the attention to detail man, nice job doing your homework, good luck finishing those ladies out, I hope you get mostly girls!
(you better hope you get at least one boy or your gonna be coming home on your lunch break everyday to refill the tank) :peace:

Thanks! for the encouragung words! I've read every one of the posts in Vetts threads at least twice in addition to reading everyone elses on the AG. I have been encouraged by all of them.
I'll be thinning it out before long, regardless of sex. The little AG just won't hold more than 2-3.

why did u add epsom salt to begin with??
Like the old cliche..."A little knowledge is a dangerous thing", I screwed up. I switched from bottled to tap water and my tap is very hard 320ppm with Ph of 8 + and I just freaked. Then I read somewhere that it helps them absorb the nutes so I just added 1/4 tsp and then my probs started. Then I read that it would kill my organic nutes, so I drained, cycled some Clearex thru it and filled it back up.
They looked good this morning when I checked on them. I'm still using Ph'd tap water and trying not to kill them with my ignorance.

These are from last Sunday (week 5 from seed). There is a 150 W hps just above the first pix. that you dont see. I wanted to see if I could upload decent size pix instead of using those tiny thumbnail ones.
