I know that everyone strives for atleast .5 grams per watt but is this very easy to acheive with a 1000w MH or is it more of a HPS thing?

Strain, style of grow, and the growers skill is what really determines yield. HPS is better to flower though.

I know that you get more bud with HPS, but I thought that bud grown with MH was more potent? my method now is just let them grow in soilless mix ,some are topped and some are not, I feed them a rather cheap fert but they seem to like it. I was also debating adding somthing like monster bloom or a bloom enhancer from AN maybe for the 5th and 6th week, anyone have any suggestions?

Lighting has nothing to do with potency of the bud. The strain and what you feed it does.

Try AN Overdrive for late in flowering. AN Big bud is good for the rest of flowering.

I thought that you get more Crystal or Resin with MH? So I guess my question would be, if I smoke a blunt of the exact same strain will I notice no difference between MH and HPS. I will most definetly upgrade if that is the case.

No difference at all as far as I know. The chlorophyll in the leafs are just using the light(whatever light) for energy to process your nutes into simple carbs and sugars that feed your plant.

The major difference between MH and HPS is that with MH the plants stay shorter and the node spacing is tighter, which is why most people will agree MH is better for veg. With HPS they tend to stretch a bit more but more of the red spectrum is ideal for flowering.

Resin production is determined by environment (temp, humidity) and what your feeding your plants. The strain also has a lot to do with this. Every strain has a certain potential, you cant force feed any plant, its up to the grower to bring out that potential.
