Halfway through trim and found some seeds, does this affect potency??

So I'm halfway through trimming 8 plants and noticed about 6 seeds.

I realize I may have some hermies but my question relates to potency. In your experience does this diminish potency?

They were all grown from seed and I thought I had killed off all the males but apparently the eye had been tricked...

6 seeds in 8 plants? Nothing to worry about other trying to figure out where the pollen came from in my opinion. If they were fully seeded potency would def be effected. Some may think otherwise but in my experience a couple seeds is nothing to worry about

@whitebb2727 said there is 3 more cannabinoids found in seeded pot .
And most will tell it is stronger and I agree, as long as there's not too many.
Enjoy your harvest
@Dr. Who said before I did.

There was some discussion on it and a few said seeded pot to be more potent. It was in a thread about pot myths. It gets repeated that seeded pot is weaker because it puts energy into seeds. I don't its any less potent, just seeded.

Sorry wasn't trying to put you own the spot, I just read a couple days ago and wanted to give credit

Wow very interesting. Something to look into. This is great topic of discussion which I'm sure has been discussed before. Many people think that a seed or two is the end of the world . @808Budz any idea where the pollen came from? Do you lollipop your plants? Some strains will throw a few nanners down low if left unpruned. I believe the lack of light causes this but I could be wrong. Would like to hear others thoughts on this. Who knows maybe there's magic in those beans !

That would be correct!

Some serious growers believe the seeded is better thing. I'm on the fence as how can I justify my price with a bunch of seeds in a bag? I suggest you try it out for yourself. Not hard to grow for the patients and a cpl of personal plants - seeded, for you.

I've purposely pollinate a female once to give that myth a try. I dipped a toothpick in pollen that I had previously harvested and pollinate one Purple Kush female ( I had 5 other clones of the same mother ). I told a couple of friends what I did and give them samples once dried and cured to see if they saw any difference. They did not. I just ended up with a hundred seeds.

6seeds in 4 plants is nothing. I don't even understand how its possible to have only 6 seeds. If pollinated properly, you can get seeds by the thousands.

We found about 20 seeds in our last grow, one of the Durban Poison plants was a hermie which pollinated itself and a couple neighboring plants, a White Widow and a Chemdog. No effect on potency, but we have some interesting hybrid seeds to try.

Its old forum info but i'll spread it because im far from sure and cant be weighed in googling wether its right or wrong, RM3 and a few others probably remember it...

The false leaf that creates the calyx has a layer or trichomes on both the upper and lower surface making it the most potent part of the plant. A seed will inhibit the inner layer of trichomes leaving it half as potent as an un-seeded calyx (sensimillia or however the fuck you spell that complicated word).

Anyway i dont know and just putting it out there, could be bs for all i know :-)

for a buyer and a seller seeded pot adds weight..which is bad as both parties are unaware of the smokable weight.

Does it effect potency? ..im not sure..lots of breeders say no it doesnt.

In your case its just a few seeds and id say thats great. Free seed stock for you and not concern to the buyer either.= Win Win.

I don't know if it's a myth or rumor or what because I heard it before anyone was testing weed. But I remember picking up somewhere along the way that the "pods" around the seeds contained the highest % of trichs. But I have no proof to back it up. Maybe I believed it because it made cleaning the seeds worthwhile? Dunno

Pretty sure back in the day I saved a bunch of the seed coverings (got about .5 lb from a pound lol) and near as I recall, I didn't go "holy shit, this is good". But that would have been like 30 years ago lol.

Keep in mind the fact that seeded has 3 more cannabinoids.

different parts of a plant often test differently than another. no doubt the seeded parts re different than the non seeded ones I'd guess.
I never noticed a difference in effects personally. But when I opened a sack from yesteryear and the popcorn seeded budexploded with every pinch....I was bummed, prolly the weight I was thinking about.. today, if a patient finds a seed in my bud they're like all over it, for their future grow of course. They track down the possible parentage and learn to store properly too. Its fun to them, I sometimes default to apologize even. I used to plant some of my accidentals but now I eat them when they occur. I still have some labeled and stored, maybe thinking one day can cover my lawn or something legally. I got too many seeds already still in breeder packs, half missing of course....

if theres more in seeded bud and more is better then FTW ! more is better!
