i need some help with my plants. THe biggest one is about 3.5 to 4 inches tall. 1.5 weeks in.

should i leave it? and when it starts to fall over add support?

What would be the best way to fix these little babies.

burry the stem a little, get a fan to strengthin the stem and move the light as close as possible without burning the plant....

Actually, I have 3 florescent going, two "grow" lights and a "daytime" light, all hanging about it.
I'm about to finish the cabinet for them tho.

Originally, the lights I think were too far away from them, I realized it was growing too tall this morning, shot up an inch in one day, and quickly moved the lights down

I bought the "marijuana grower's handbook" by Ed Rosenthal, last week and have been studying it religiously. But I still wasn't completely ready when they started to grow.

Is there any other tips or things I should know? Like how close should the lights really be? 2-3in away? And I've put more soil into the pots like what was suggested.
I'm using a mix of soil, vermiculite, and perlite in the pots. I added just more soil.

Agreed. 2" is usually fine. Place the one in the shorter pot on a book or something so that they'll be at even heights and be careful with the fan as too not blow too hard and damage them...lol, that's what she said...

2"-3" is good but depends on what watts?
When you repot and bury that stem, get a deep pot and bury the stem 1/4" away from the bottom leaves. It'll give you a good root system.
What type of lights? Total lumens? What color spectrums?
Then, either finish that cabinet quickly and get some light on them or just.............get some light on them! They're obviously bigtime stretching for light.

OK, I have two 24" Light of America 17watt lights each putting out 1020 lumens 84CRI 4200K temp
And in the middle of the two I have 18" florescent "daytime" bulb. Not sure on the wattage or the lumens but I'm pretty sure its 800lumens tho. and its CRI 90

with those lamps you can have the plants right up to them, however if you're hoping to flower with em i think you'll be sadly disapointed witht he results.

It looks to me like you have the plastic cover over that flouro, its really in your best interest to have a bare bulb shining on your plants. Pull that sucker off.

Put the two seedlings into seperate pots, trust me, you'll be glad you did later, or rather, you'll be upset if you don't when they've rooted together and one turns out to be male.

Good choice with the growers handbook, its a valuable source of information. There is also alot of great info for free right here, click the FAQ button at the top of the screen and be amazed by the grandness that is knowledge.

Also if you want see how out of control this "hobby" can get, check out the thread in my sig where i profile the thousands of dollars that go into a grow.

The great part is, if you put money, labour, and love into it, you are rewarded with beautiful buds galore.
