What do u think is the best distance to suspend my light from seedlings? Im at 27 inches currently. Looking ok just wanted a second opinion. Thanks all.

I run a 300watt LED with a distance of 37" for sprouts. 35" seedlings. 30 in veg. 24ish in flower.

Set it high. If they stretch, lower it about 4-5". Aim for a sprout height of about 2.5" tall.

I bought that same light last October. By January it was ripped apart for parts.

It will flower a 2x2 area well, but you wont get much penetration and bud quality under the canopy will be lacking bigtime. They also kick out an insane amount of heat for the wattage.

FYI at this point about 4 CFLs 3- 6 inches from the seedlings would be a better option than cranking up the panel. Save some electricity, might even veg a lil better. IMO.

Honestly ive had better sucess with a hydrofarm t5 fix. Your right! Thjs light sucks and i dont recomend it. I had a month long set back due to heat issues. Had to re germ as u see in the pic. Lost three of my favs from last years harvest becaise this pannel

Yes, my T5s were great for vegging. I had no other reason to shelve them other than wanting to upgrade again and save some electricity. That transition hasn't gone very smooth and I'm considering going back to the T5s. As for flowering, LEDs are the way to go.

this is a rule of thumb for us normal folk who cant justify a proper light meter. Download a LUX meter on your phone. A canopy at 70,000 LUX is max for a really happy plant that is in full pig mode with CO2. I run mine between 50,000 and 60,000 and 30,000 or less for veg even less then 10,000 for clones or young plants. So there you go now you know!

Hey can you recommend a few phone lux meters that work well?

I've tried that too. Outside, inside 2 inches from COB. Same deal. I'm using an HTC one.

Edit: After doing some further research it seems to be a phone limitiation. The light sensor does not register anything past 10240K.
