Hard water..what to use

Hey guys,

My town water is running at an ec of 0.3 atm and ive been advised this could be causing some of my issues.

The guy at the shop is trying to sell me an RO kit which i simply cant afford so figured id ask some advice.

Is this ec too high or will it be okay to use as is?

Would rainwater be a more effective option with bottled water as a back up?

Thanks in advance

There’s nothing hard about your water if that’s your e.c.,carry on you don’t need a r/o system.

That's a relief...now ive just got to figure a way to keep my res temps stable and i think ive overcome all the initial hurdles

.3 (150ppm) mineral content is usually perfect.

But best to have water report so you know the composition.

My well water is .2 ec but it was .3 last summer during a rainy season. This past summer was dry.

Also I have a little too much calcium and not enough mag and plenty of iron so I take that into account with nutrients.
