Harvest

Had a harvest that was ready I thought. Trichomes looked good and everything. Flushed well.
The buds are soft. Very dissatisfied I fucked this up.
Any input, so I don't screw up again?

you've given no information or pictures as to what you fucked up...so in turn...nobody can help you

have you dried and cured properly ???? pics would help

Yep, pics would help, strain, age at harvest, dry time, cure time and methods used etc..

Your first mistake was not inviting us over.

If you are still talking about a fresh harvest then you may be getting ahead of yourself. You may not have fucked anything up yet.

Quit looking at Reichstag and finish the plant. Ill put am ounce that it was taken early.

Yep if the leaves aren't turning yellow and falling off they aren't done. I don't even start flushing until they start yellowing off... then I let them finish. People will argue that if you are feeding a plant it wont yellow but I disagree, if they are nearing the end of their life cycle they will start to yellow.

I don't use high nitrogen ferts during flower though, I suppose I could be wrong but if you are feeding a plant a bloom nutrient during flower they WILL start yellowing near the end.

Depends on the strain...some do it...some don't do it...sometimes its grower induced...sometimes its natural...my Iranian G13 only had a couple large fan leaves start to yellow a bit on a couple plants...the rest stayed mostly green...and they were all grown in one big ass flower bed having the roots all intertwined

I grew some L.A Woman that stayed green all the way to the end. That plant had the biggest fan leaves I've ever seen.....and a highly recommended strain BTW.

not true you harvest by the trichs not by the leaves turning yellow and dropping off. most plants will turn yellow and start dying towards the end of there life, but thats not to say you have missed the window for best results

Maybe so, but I have yet to have a plant that was showing amber before the leaves started turning. Not saying some strains don't but I haven't had one....yet. I look at trichs too, just saying... trichs are only one numeral in the equation.

harvesting by the trichomes is going to give you an idea of how "heavy" the smoke will be the more amber the more heavy couch lock it will be even if its a pure sativa itll still put you to sleep if you harvest when all amber, if you harvest when there about when there clear still it will be more of an "up" high and if you harvest (this is when i harvest) the trichs are 35-40% amber and the rest creamy white and thats "peak harvest" or close to atleast

Curious. How do you grow?Hydro or soil? what kind? What nutes? what strains?

This plant was about 90% cloudy...

Not all strains can be determined at peak potency by the trich color...some don't turn amber...and if you let such a strain go amber be prepped for some serious CBN intake and sitting on your duff for a while

The BEST way I've personally been able to determine the best time to harvest is by taking samples and quickdrying them in about a 160degree oven. Head high and no body = not done, head high + some body = not done, about the same head + body and lasting a good 1.5+ hrs = ready to harvest for ME personally...everyone is different...everyone I've shared my grows with have loved the uplifting head + body that I produce

at the minute im in soil but started out in hydro,the soil is a mix i do myself consisting of peat, perlite, home compost, and some chicken pellets. in the flower room at minute only just gone in. are cheese lemon skunk amnesia haze , amnesia x cheese that i crossed myself and doublegum

I also have several strains and different mediums too, and everyday I pluck a few yellow leaves off. (not a few leaves of each plant everyday, a few leafs between all of them)
