harvesting 1 mature cubensis and leaving the cluster?

say i have a nice cluster of mushrooms growing on my brf cake, and one is HUGE and ready to harvest at this moment, the veil has just broken. is it a good idea to take a razorblade and cut the mature mushroom off, begin to dry, and leave the rest to fully mature before harvesting?

why and why not?

or should i just pick the whole cluster?

earthstongue.com- more expensive but more reliable. Only downside is you have to buy 2 syringes, but if you get cheap ones, you'll only spend $45 bucks and have 40cc's which is a holy fuck ton. serrriously, you wouldn't need to buy spores for like, 4 grows.

That is one big shroom. I would like to know the dry weight of that sucker. And you're right about the syringes. I have enough syringe stuff to last a year. And that's not even counting the prints that I will be taking.

Nice looking grow. My only suggestion (if you're looking for them) would be to let them go longer between misting. Your 2 biggest caps appear to be slightly water logged, which is no big deal now, but you risk getting some nasty looking caps if the problem gets any worse.

i have been doing some reading about drying techniques, and i already purchased and built a drying chamber in a solid color tote. im going to line the bottom with this stuff i got from lowes, cant remember the name of it, and ill use screens to support the mushrooms an inch or so above the layer of that perlite looking stuff that sucks out the water.

right now i harvested the two biggest mushies that were ready, and have them air drying under my desk with a fan blowing air on them, after they dry somewhat ill move them into the drying chamber.

does this sound like a good plan? i could def. use some more advice and criticism.

ill take pics of the drying chamber soon, and when the biggens are cracker dry ill post the weight.

Yeah pick off what's ready and leave the rest. Are you misting the cakes directly? I would only just do the sides of the tub and the perlite. You really don't want to have your cakes and fruits constantly water logged like that man. What strain?

thank you for the advice, i was misting the air above the fruiting chamber with the lid off when i fanned the Co2 out of there, i will now only spray the sides of the container and if i can get the sprayer low enough ill mist the perlite directly. much appreciated sonar!

the strain is called Golden Teachers, and i got them off of earthstongue.com, extremely happy.
